If I have runners in July and early August I would be exporting my horses on different days, this way I have no runners in July and early August and can export all my horses in peak condition on the same day. I feel this saves me a lot of time.

I also have 1 date that l export every horse. It is also August and just export everything and if any horse is not fully fit just make a note and export them few days after. Keeps exporting simple for me

Gelding horses in this way has been going on in this league for ages, I first started in season 6 on SO2 and this was going on then, the only important issue is transparency. No one has tried to hide this tactic or the reasons for doing it and there is nothing to stop others from doing it. Secondly, and more importantly, from the testing I’ve done with gelding on SO4 the ability of horses with a normal or laid back temperament does not improve with gelding, and for excitable horses I would argue that it doesn’t improve the ability of the horse it simply enables the horse to reach its true potential.

Also I agree with the view that how a person plays this game is up to them, when the tactic of altering the schedule to change claimers into group ones came out I was initially very uncomfortable with this but very shortly afterwards I thought yes actually it’s not up to me to decide how people play the game and if people want to do this it’s up to them, especially as there was no guarantee it would be beneficial and, now that it was out in the open, I could do it too if I wished just like everyone else.

When I first joined this league I was shocked by the standard of the horses and was told that the purpose of the league was for the top horses to compete against each other, so how you get those horses is up to you, gelding a horse with an excitable temperament and ctl-alt-del is just one method of getting that potentially top horse without screwing up your bloodlines.

Finally, and most importantly, whether you geld a horse or not isn’t going to transform your stable into a super stable because it is such a minor tactic, the manner in which you play the game as a whole is what matters and it is this area where most people go woefully wrong, at least in relation to getting league quality horses.

Sorry about the long post!

Once you start to dominate in your game the next step is the league so you have to play your game the way you think best. Winning the trainers championship every season in the game could get boring so trying breed top league horses give me the motivation to keep play a game I love season after season.

I use to do this but I have forgotten to export some good game horses and I'll never know if they were any good in the CK

Don't be like that m8 I think most newbies would love your help, if they use it great if not there is nothing lost, Trainers should share there styles of training with other trainers this way you can use what works best for you, Did O'Brien, Stoute and Cecil wake up one morning and know how to train a race horses, no they took bits and piece's from other trainers and used what work for them and there horses.

Yeah whatever guys, don't tell us it makes us no difference but you go to the trouble to do it anyway.
I agree it doesn't make or break your stable.
I'm never gonna like it or do it. It's so stupid seeing geldings in the game that went on for a life in stud.
I've argued my point and so have others.
If people are gonna have a hissy fit over not being able to use it then just don't worry about changing any rules.

Each player must play the game their own way.

1. Too many rules, and we would stiffle the league play and just confuse the hell out of everyone.
2. The only possible benefit from gelding is, mental approach race day. Since SO3, the main gain has been removed.
3. Even if your horse is gelded, it needed to be bred properly to begin with, be exported at the right time for it, break from the gate properly, find a good position, not get blocked, have the finishing kick, and find that 10% luck that's involved.

As you can see from point number 3. These factors involved to win, far outweight everything else. Gelded or entire, you need the horse and the luck to win.

I take the points of policing this Thunder, but it would be near impossible with 1500+ horses uploaded every season. Mammoth task for anyone, even a team assigned to it.

It might be more viable to change the races to better match real life, such as the Derby and Guineas. Players have to try and breed the calmness into the bloodlines, or take a chance. The gelding question would still remain, but it's players choice to geld knowing what races they might eliminate themselves from.

next thing will be coming up with a so called handicap for trainers for how dare they win more then newbies or me or maybe someone is jealous because joe blow won a few races more then I did in one league week, the first handicap for legend trainers that win more then two races in one league week is to take their computer away from them otherwise will call it a hissy fit, bloody hell, these people in question are trying to help newbies to me it seems like some of you people in here are just waiting on them to open their mouths so you can attack their wins, not right, no sportsmenship, not even satisfactory to say the least, now there, that's what you call a hissy fit, thunder, you don't like it don't do it me mate.

Thanks Colm.
Now that's all clarified we can stop this debate.
I'm sorry if I seemed aggressive towards my view.
I respect everyone's opinions, I think all of you guys are great and enjoy this forum very much.
Yes kenny if you look at my stable it's mainly geldings over colts, but I haven't played for a few seasons when there was obviously a big difference when gelding a horse, and my way of playing has stayed the same.
But you guys have swayed my opinion and will probably rarely if ever geld after tonight's discussion, because I think we have all come to the conclusion that in SO4 it doesn't matter as much.
I guess I'm peed that I've gelded so many good horses and missed out on breeding with them!
I think the ctrl-alt-del method may just be a waste of time now anyway.

Have a good night all,

Tim
