All those who want so much changes should consider to overtake the whole league race, running races, commentaries, schedule changes etc.
I'm quite happy with the league, it was the same when I entered and wasn't competitive in group races as it is now fighting for Group wins.
So my motivation was to breed better horses and not "please do not enter the lower races" or "give me more low races I can win".
If i get a win it must be well earned, in the beginning my aim was to get always in the money, then I wanted to win lower races and so on.
Maybe you just have to invest a little bit more time into breeding or you have to agree that you will not win much races.
Don't think you could ask Coolmore to not enter her star horses so you get a free Group win.
Every year there are coming GB/IR horses to the german derby or other big races and no one complains, they just try to beat them. That' the way it goes.

Remember when all the league staff members (or only a part) quit you have no league at all, so I take as it goes, everything is better than no league!!!
Try to adapt to the given circumstances and make the best of it. Maybe you need a game with faster rewards and I'm sure there are many out there.

Post Re: Weekly Reaction
Right this my last word on this then I am out of here as its like eating soup with a fork sometimes.

I am not nor ever have suggested taking away G1 races.

I am not nor ever have suggested giving people a cheap easy option to win a G1 race or cheapening the great skill shown by a few to reach the upper echelons of the world of fantasy horse racing pixels.

I couldn't give a flying fig whether I win a G1 race or not but I don't want to sit and watch 20 horses every week either running in a race they can't win or not run at all. And I don't believe anyone else does either.

What I have been trying to say (and will now totally give up by the way) is that because we have no stud values to protect as they do in reality in effect every WFA or conditions race is a G1.

The long distance listed race at Ascot this week will just be a reserve Gold Cup, may as well call it G1 as listed as the top trainers will put their second or third best stayers in it, some maybe even their best if they don't think they can beat John in the Gold Cup. If it was a 0-120 handicap it would be competitive … everyone who was going to enter still could and would also mean you could drop the other long distance to an 80 or even 75. It is called being all inclusive and doing what is best for all and more importantly making it fun.

Anyway that's it … no more … don't know why I went back on what I said last time about trying to improve and help the league grow. I'll enter horses and do the coms if you still want me to but I am not offering any more opinion or suggestion about anything again.

Every thing should be geared towards SO7, hopefully it won't take more than 2 years to run a league with the new game and if that's the case then we should have more people enter the league becuase people are still engaged with the game. I think we could go to 40 races a week if we have 5 race runners. I think if u made those races 0-90 and lower it would even up the schedule a lot more. We need to think about the future of the league and not what side of the fence u on.

I totally agree with this John is unbeatble in the Gold Cup and the Alexandra because we know his 3 stayers are better than anyone Got and the Ascot Stakes could drop down to a lower Handicap this s what we should be doing looking at the Schedule each week see what could be adjusted and Me or Doug whoever adjust it that week that way by the end of the season I or doug wouldn't of forgotten what we was going to do  .

This has to be your change, Gray. I left Ascot well alone and for good reason. This change has to be made by you.

In my defence I did not quit, I just had a wee bit of a tantrum and threw my toys about a bit.

But as I said I am totally in favour of what Martin has suggested, it makes utter sense to me for the now. I don’t even think SO7 is relevant right now as we do not know how it will shape up, but hook players now chances are they will still be here when it does.

I would support a series of proposed schedule changes along these lines if someone wants to do the leg work, and we can poll it to be inclusive. Be easier for people to judge when they see it in black and white rather than assume the worst, and swinging 40/60 in favour of handicaps by busting up the listed and G3’s etc makes perfect sense.

I am happy enough to make those changes either by myself or with Martin - I can post them here like i did with the lower hcp stuff so they can be looked over and finalised. I would just need to clearly know what changes are needed and the reason for.

No not true, theses are totally different. What was planned last year was to totally rip up the schedule and I was against that then and i'm against that now plus people were trying to mess the jumps schedule, I've always been in favour of having more smaller h'caps and even if that meant less for the top trainers then i'm happy with it, it's not all about keeping my share of the pie, im happy sharing it.

Think having more double entries for the bigger races has been great
means you can have 2 darts of winning it if one of your horses is unlucky
with the draw or you get a brainless jockey at least its not your chance gone
i think with out the double entries alot of my horses would not get runs regualrlly
if this could be expanded it would also be good thing.

Id also like to see some of the Ascot races be expanded especially as new horses are
coming in races like the Chesham so you can give both of you 7f 1m newcomers a run
also races like the Jersey if people bring in 2 x milers or the tercentenary where you could
run your 1m2 & 1m4 newcomers in.

Its just a thought.

Is it still the rule on the flat that newcomers cant run in G1s its hard remembering all the
rules.

The Jersey double entry option is out then  as its becoming a handicap meaning newcomers
will have to look for another option to debut - I guess that means you have to run your horse
in the Coronation or St James Palace stakes (G1s) if you are a low tier trainer thats tough on
you you can make your debut in a G1 and your newcomers mark could well be ruined at the start.

I trust these ideas are for next season anyway?
