Another crap week for me I wondered if some one can offer me some advise my horse Napapijri seems to have regressed 15 lengths the past 2 runs. It won a listed race and beat Leons Daenerys T who won the Hattons Grace today and now it can't get within 10 lengths of the horse? My only thought is that Rasaman Ages who its come up against its last 2 sets a high tempo and my horse can't keep up? Apart from that i'm lost and it's put a bit of a dampener on my aspirations

It says he wants firm ground and if so then anything other than good ground then he will run like he has.

You may be correct, I don't have a copy of this horse anymore so i'm not even sure the ground is correct I'll step it up to 3m and see what happens Thanks

Apart from that i'm lost and it's put a bit of a dampener on my aspirations Ground and pace. Daenerys Targaryen is way better when there is soft ground and also if there is a lot of pace. They went slow when you beat her, they went really fast today which suits her running style. Firm ground horses struggle in soft conditions

Thanks for the advise, Leon i did have one question. Week 1 i remember my horse ran a good race against dreams of steel over 2m 6f could have arguably got a little closer to beating your horse if jumped the last better. What is the better form line Dreams of steel or D.T? I'm considering stepping up to 3m as my horse seems to constantly be pushed along over 2m 4f i'm unsure if to stick to that distance and wait for better ground or try 3m.

Daenerys Targaryen is better over 2m4/5 with a fast pace or softer ground. She is in my team as her best track and trip are 2m4 Aintree and the Aintree Hurdle is her main target. Dreams of Steel prefers soft ground and probably needs 2m6 - 3m or a testing course. Dreams of Steel has run well over 2m4 the last twice because there has been such fast pace in those 2 races, but for that she wouldn't have been so close.
I know John doesn't like it but I trial my 2m4 hurdlers at Aintree, seem to have my best success trialing my 2m4 hurdlers there.

yeah not the smartest It was a last min thing had some old horse files on one drive from games i no longer have and wanted to be involved so just chucked them in and hoped for the best. I suppose i should be happy with my listed win and everything else is a bonus. I will try 3m see how she goes as that was the original plan Thanks for the help much appreciated. GL tomorrow

Trial it, you will know soon enough. It is pretty common for my 2.4m horses to be better at 3m.
And ground is very important along with race pace, I pick my team based on two conditions, consistency at trial with differing race paces and the medium of the most likely three grounds you will encounter in the NH. This almost never includes those who like firm ground, even in SO6 when you could see going adaption I never found it made too much difference.
I have about 10-15 very promising looking horses in training right now who like firm ground (out of 440+) I am almost certain none of them will get through my trials, at best they will go into the barn so I can breed it out of them, though to be honest i don’t much like them in the barn either.

It's great to see so few horses pulling up over 3m+. A good day for my jumps team with 3 winners. William Crump will now go away until the gold cup if he gets good ground, it's always good to get a win early for a good ground horse before it gets wet. I was delighted to win the old Mackeson with a horse who has fallen twice, jump won him the race. It's a funny old game

Melancholy Cove Thanks. He has an accelaration bar of almost 100, which gives him that great finish

Had the look of a shockingly bad week for me with no winners in either code after 2 days then 3 classics come on the final day on the flat
Tunisia & Tajikstan both did the Guineas double to frank the form from Newmarket Taj was particularly impressive both horses go to Royal Ascot next
Thank god for the milers because the Epsom team look pants I'd say I have won my last classic for the season but delighted to have just won 1.
Kinda Special Wins the Preakness she has shown little all season but knew a big one was in her she hit lucky with the draw and was in the right position at the right time the fav was mighty unlucky TBH.
Well done to the winners and placers especially the newcomers Huge thanks to everyone involved Thoughts and prayers to Josh hope your hanging in there mate.
Gray whats the chances of 30 subs over the sticks mine not even competitive in low grade handicaps
