Paul I've said to Gray I'll help out running the races( great respect for gray+leon for all the time they put into this) but I'm retiring as a trainer, it's no longer fun and if something's not fun any more then what's the point . I'm going to take my ponies and live on a shack in the welsh mountains, well I've got all the money from Dubai to live on. It will still give me great pleasure watching other peoples horses battle it out.

And one last thing to u steve( this is the last word I will speak to u), some facts- my win percentage was 45% on the flat and over jumps( I was truly amazed by that) but the races I've ran my percentage of wins was 32% and 33%, perhaps the moral of the story is I should have let other runners run my horses.

Personally I've been hanging out to call these races each week.
I do believe we need to make sure everything runs by the rules - it just keeps everyone in the light.
Everyone is volunteering behind the scenes - me personally i'm a business owner, I work six days a week - three of those days are 12 hour shifts
now footy season has started up - I am a team manager for a suburban team so there goes 6 hours of my day off - now i'm home banging out race calls which is almost a dream come true for me!

I say let's address Steve's issue about this certain runner - if all is above board and in the rules - no worries and if not then scratch the horse or ignore it's result.
To bring up another grey area - there is a horse on the flat this weekend with a rating of 102 in an 0-100 race. Personally I have no worries with this but I can understand that some might do.

I also understand that the guys running these races are giving their own time to do so - just like myself - and things WILL slip through. We are not the VRC or STC where millions are at stake!

Ghost - please come back into the fold - your contribution to the league is well respected and appreciated and your advice to me is, I believe, invaluable!

Steve - keep you stable running and involved! This game has a mind of itself and like the real world of racing - there is no rhyme or reason why some horses lose or win!
the league needs the powerful stables just as much as it needs trainers like me.
