Thankyou! I think I shall enter this year, can we enter only NH horses? As I think these are the only horses I may have, as I don't have any good horses going in my flat game at the moment. Also, can we watch the race 'live' like the grand national today?

The horse you sent me in the National wouldn't Qualify for the League as he wasn't From a League Mode Game Just letting you know and anybody else who might think they may have horses that was saved before League Mode send me the files I will check for you before you upload.

You can Have Just a NH Stable you don't have to Both and all races are separated into 3 days of Racing about 12 Races a Day Tuesday Night to Thursday Night.

Thanks Gray, so on the nominations page, the races that are shown as on Monday can be watched on Tuesday night? And what about the bonus? Sorry for a lot of questions.

Trailing is so inconsistent it unreal to pick my best horses when so many different ones are winning. What an headache.

Question to the league players who are trailing.

Are you watching the whole race or skipping on space bar to the closing stages? Not sure how accurate doing the space bar is to watching them run full races. Plus you will miss horses running styles over the last 3+ furlongs of the races.

Mark please look into making exporting horses easier within the game and in the trail section.

Thanks
Craig

I run mine in fast forward mode by pressing the tab key once they are off. Then in the final furlong or so I press it again and it slows back to normal. Results seem pretty erratic however you do it. I am just about to start 971 down to 55 by Thursday night .. gonna be a tough week :D :D

Having more than one winning is a blessing IMO, means you have a good range to pick from.
When i have no clear favorite i do the following:
I always give a preference to front runners. A hold up horse might win charging from the rear but there is always the chance they might get caught up coming through the pack.
Look at the race schedule and run them at the tracks that that distance race will be run. Different tracks can make a world of difference to the results.
Finally if i still cant separate them look at the winning times and pick the fastest.

Oh, and i never use the space bar. It throws up the strangest results.

Cheers

I don't use fast forward as the times seem a lot quicker than they should be.
I press space to skip past the runners and riders and then esc as soon as possible to get to the results screen.
The times for this seem to be on a par with letting the race run its full course.
I put my best 3 sprinters in when trialling milers to make it a fast run race as slow run races tend to be more inconsistent.
Likewise put some milers in when trialling 1m2f and 1m4f and so on and so forth.

Will there be any double entries this season? and if so what races/weeks?

Could the 2020 league rules be posted on this forum and/or on the league website? The league rules on here appear to be for the old game so6.

I trial mine with the tab button for the full race. Not uncommon on my NH trials at least to have 6-10 horses that I can hardly split but keep at it the cream always rises eventually. How many trials are you running with your final groups. I am doing at least 30+.

I've already done the bulk on my trails now. Had 1100 at one point now down to 400+. I don't envy you at all.

I agree Jango, Will keep on trailing until closer to the cut off day. Ascot for me i tend to find more consistent results with my horses. Other courses it's more random. For my NH i tend to only trail at Cheltenham and Aintree that's it.

Hey Davylad. Are times more relevant now with the newer additions of SO? I never used to go on times in my trails from previous editions on the game. I've been putting in pacemakers more often of late. Will try the additional horses from different distances, used to do that back in the day. Thanks for reminding me.
Thanks

I've also been using the tab button for the longer distance races. For sprints i like to watch the full race and see how it pans out.

Right now i'm collating all my consistent horses from each distances and will re-run them together. Hopefully do 10 races each and just decide on the best ones. Will trail 3 races on soft, 3 on Good and the last ones on Firm ground.

I have a theory about trialing with pacemakers.
The last 2 seasons i used pacemakers to increase the pace of the races. I figured that league races tend to be run at a good pace so i wanted the horses that could produce the fastest overall times.
If they cant run hard they probably wouldnt keep up in the league races.
So come the start of the season and i was winning 6 or 7 maiden races each week. I was a happy chappy and things looked promising.
Then as i started to run in the Group races i was lucky to win 1 or 2 races each week. WHY? I had already smashed the same horses in the maidens.
I have now concluded that the maidens have all manner of horses in them, lower handicap runners that can act as pacemakers and then drop dead at the furlong mark.
But the Group races have a different pace to them, slower at the start with a longer later burst. This favors horses with different attributes.
I also find that using a pacemaker can hide a horse that would normally take the pacemaking and may do well or may bomb.
So no pacemakers for me these trials, i guess i shall see if it works out soon enough.

I Never use pacemakers its just not replicating how league races are run
even if people export horses as race handy types thats a long way off the pace
of a pacemaker and i think you will get mixed results sometimes fake results

I Use no pacemakers and never give jockey instructions thats the nearest to being
able to replicate league races and still its a long way off the real thing hut gives you
a chance

I used to use pacemakers in so5 leagues and my horses never really produced the goods
of course each to their own in terms of running trials

Interesting points gents, will take them on board.

Will complete 2 more seasons in each of my flat only and combined then that's it. Finish off my trails and upload my donkeys for the start of the season.

I guess been in self isolation the boredom is less of an issue while trying to get a league team together.

Trust everyone is doing well in these difficult and testing time as we all navigate our way through COVID-19.
