I believe the nhc schedule will work well for trainers at all levels too

i think the only thing that is missing is restricted races which id like to see added to the schedule

im thinking 3 resticted races on the weeks with only 25 races from week 3 that will see 21 restcted races added to the schedule but is that enough or would everyone like to see more?

problem is this is adding even more races to the schedule with already 309 races so i hope the race secretary dosent mind because it wont be an easy job and will take even longer with so many races at so many at different tracks each week but i would be happy to forget about my stable and do the race secretary job for the nhc if needed

I've spoken to Rich, Paul awhile back about this. The idea was to scrap them altogether and have more Handicap races Dave.

Right had a chance to look over the schedule and have to say I like it.

There are a couple of key differences as to why the number of handicaps shouldn't be the same as the flat league. The first is that over fences the field of play is a lot fairer, the second is the number of participants which isn't as much as in the flat league which could lead to a lack of competition or the same faces meeting each other each week.

The other difficulty is that there are a huge number of possible races, NHF, 2m-4m4f, hurdles and fences. Therefore there are bound to be distances that aren't represented that much. The schedule needs to be tight, we can't have many more races. I'd like to see solutions presented rather than saying "this is bad". April is supposed to be a consultation month.

As an average trainer (and believe me there is not a more average trainer than me! ) i have to say i like the looks of it.
Do we have a date for the horse uploading? I've got some really promising stayers in the pipeline... i have no 2 milers though!
 And 0 hurdlers

 Three 0-120 Handicaps
  Eighteen 0-140 Handicaps
  Twelve 0-160 Handicaps
  Thirty 0-180 Handicaps (Graded Handicaps)
There are already over 200 actual non handicap graded races for these horses.

But just one high rated horse in the 0-160 or 0-180 handicaps makes almost the entire field run from out of the handicap as there will be no other viable alternative.

 Here is the solution:

 Less 0-160 and 0-180 Handicaps

 A lot more more 0-120 and 0-140.

A cap on the top rated horse of 140 means almost the entire field runs from inside the handicap.

Don't suppose any of this will happen, so I will leave you to it - I'm out of here.

Why wouldn't it happen? This all depends on what horses are handicapped at.

Currently the top rated horse in the league is around 150, if we have a handicapper the top rated horse should be 180+.

If only the absolute worst horses were rated 120 or lower why wouldn't this work?

It would work - but it needs to be implemented by the man in charge of the schedule.

 80% 0-140, 10% 0-120, 5% 0-160 and 5% 0-180.

What I'm worried about with such a split would be potential for sameyness, in that the same horses would compete against each other in 0-140 handicaps week in week out, I'd like to see those rated in high 130s taking their chance in 0-160 races.

The weights system is not perfect when running in a race and that's why I think a wider mix would make more sense so horses aren't running at the same end of the weights every week.

Having looked over the schedule about 10 times tonight. It's looks pretty good to me.

The schedule Needs a Handicapper for sure!!!

Also i like the balance of races spread over each week.

 Distances looks good to me.

Cannot understand why you are picking faults.

If Paul's happy, Rich, Dave, Ryan. Thats good enough for me.

We all know how must hard work you have put in, for next Flat Season.

All am saying is leave the NH to us, don't take this personal ok.

We know what we are doing.

Btw EPW!!! It's not a schedule for 10 top trainers.

It's designed for all level of play.

Ha ha, but in the schedule 0-140 races are not 55% they are 28%.

You said it yourself 55% is perfect!

That is what I am proposing!

Steve your worrying too much about the graded handicap races

it will be rare that the top horses in the league will join these races because it is so tough to win a nhc handicap at top weight or even a high weight so trainers will most likely look for a graded race that week instead so really we could see alot of the graded hcps really turning out to be 0-140 hcps

the schedule will work out great for everyone and im sure we will get a good mix of winners each week just like last season
