Post Re: ONLINE LEAGUE Start Friday April 10th
Mainly a Nh trainer, but this season have my best flat string for a very long time. Times are looking better than I have had in ages. Horses will be old though, 6 and 7yo's

Don't use pacemakers and use space bar to watch the last bit, read the comments to check for run style. Trial every season so watching races is not an option. Watched a few seems to make no difference with results, as I get the same results.

Finishing off 1 more season before uploading my horses. Flat team should be ok from 10f to 16f. NH should be ok up to 3m5, longer distances I'm not quite there yet. Game form hasn't translated into ck form as a result havne't progressed for a long time over distances above 3m5. Flat sprints I'm about .5 seconds off decent and my milers are no good have struggled in game and in trials with milers. I will upload 3yo's but they won't be competitive so will have a limited number likewise with 2yo's

Hoping for a good NH season. My 2mile Nh horses are top class. Have had a lot of success over 2 miles in the past and these are the best 2 milers I have ever had. Good luck to all

I've been putting in pacemakers more often of late. Will try the additional horses from different distances, used to do that back in the day. Thanks for reminding me.
Thanks

I have a theory about trialing with pacemakers.
The last 2 seasons i used pacemakers to increase the pace of the races. I figured that league races tend to be run at a good pace so i wanted the horses that could produce the fastest overall times.
If they cant run hard they probably wouldnt keep up in the league races.
So come the start of the season and i was winning 6 or 7 maiden races each week. I was a happy chappy and things looked promising.
Then as i started to run in the Group races i was lucky to win 1 or 2 races each week. WHY? I had already smashed the same horses in the maidens.
I have now concluded that the maidens have all manner of horses in them, lower handicap runners that can act as pacemakers and then drop dead at the furlong mark.
But the Group races have a different pace to them, slower at the start with a longer later burst. This favors horses with different attributes.
I also find that using a pacemaker can hide a horse that would normally take the pacemaking and may do well or may bomb.
So no pacemakers for me these trials, i guess i shall see if it works out soon enough.

It's hard to read form from the week one maidens.

Mart pushed to have the Dubai meeting in the first week to try to funnel the best horses from the better trainers into them and to give other trainers a chance to sneak a win or two in the first week maidens.
We also put forward the idea of racing as many first week maidens on straight tracks where possible so that the results would show better horses winning and performing well in them as we found with seasons leading up that a mid to lower rated trainer might fluke a week one maiden win or close up placing just because of being from the right gate on a tight turning track with a big field behind it and that horse would then get rated like a G1 horse and most of it's season was then ruined.

Week one will be very interesting this year with how the new game works - it might take some weeks to work out which horses are genuine G1 and hopefully more trainers being competitive in the Group races compared to SO6.

Everyone with stables entered should be quite optimistic with their chances this season - especially in the hunt.

For the duration of S07 so going forward they can't be the same. But not names from previous seasons of S06 etc. So as this season is the first season of S07, repeat names of previous seasons are allowed

Is there any way to find previous winners of the big races? Or generally do trainers not bring the same best horses back season after season?

Go to Trainers or Logs click on a trainer and then choose a season ( may take a while to load ) and then you can browse their older horses and if their are links you can watch the old races froim previous seasona. Pick Paul Rhodes, he will have good horses for all the previous seasons

Thanks Leon, can you bring horses back each year? I saw on the rules that a horse must be older than last year, does that mean horses that are novices this season, can come back next season a year older and obviously no longer a novice?

So guys I’m still confused as I’m new. Do I have to change my horse names? If so how do I do it? It only allows me to change names of horses 2 years old so does that mean I lose all my horses I’ve put forward already that I can’t change? Clear help would be appreciated. Plus how do I wipe my stats of the horses please?

No you don't have to change horse names. You just can't reuse horse names in the future. If you play one game this isn't an issue but if you playing multiple games bear thsi in mind for future seasons.

As for wiping. In export horses then View export horses Just click any horse rtg and type 975 for flat . Click icon at top and change to NH. Click any horses rtg and type 10 for NH
