Ah ok I thought you were doing a complete re-write, starting from scratch. Sorry. Last season's schedule was chronologically incorrect, had a lot of made up races, races at the wrong tracks and distance and races which were discontinued years ago.

Did you mean Folkestone for Kent National?

I'm aware you can't have several of the same races in one week. Maybe someone could do the tables for the races to make sure there is a balance.

Matt apart from the first two weeks week 3 onwards was a complete re-write

Gray just looking at the new version of the schedules

I am unclear what NHF means in the sex column.. is this open or for fillies only? Looking at the races I suspect it's open.

Is there a list of what the different race types are? I'm not sure the race types and races tie up correctly - maybe worth rechecking these?

Excellent thats exactly what was needed. I'll give it a full look in a week or so. Hopefully people are looking it over as I made some mistakes with the flat last year, and its hard to spot them all on your own.

I plan to have a full NH team next season. Though I struggle with 4m+ horses. Whats the trick there?

Just a note Matt Week two Doncaster is scrapped it's now Ascot plus all NHF sex column have been done to either Open or mares races will still say NHF in some races on the sex column on the files above.

Ok mate. I think the Doncaster meeting was a very old meeting in real life which never got changed. Its a big ask doing a complete re-write. I'll take a look properly when I can.

Can you do tables of the races?

I downloaded the Schedule you posted above Gray and I can't get the numbers you have posted for the schedule breakdown.

Doing a filter of the 16 and 16.5f races, I find 98 instead of the 104 you have on your table.

FWIW this is the table I get from Excel

I think the spread is pretty good, Gray. From scratch you've done a great job. I understand the number is higher for 2m because of bumpers and juvenile hurdles but do you think the number is a bit high still? 15 2m Novice hurdles in a 13 week season? Whats the ratio between Graded 2m nov hurdles and just normal 2m novice hurdles? 2m6 might need more races in general? Also more chases over 3m2?

Some races I couldn't see:

Grimthorpe Chase from Doncaster
Devon Marathon, which you explained before.
Prestige Novices Hurdle(Albert Bartlett) from Haydock. Prep for Spa Novices at Cheltenham.
Haydock National Trial
Rendlesham Hurdle from Haydock
Sidney Banks Memorial Novices' Hurdle from Huntingdon
Premier Kelso Hurdle. Their feature race
The Kempton February meeting with the Adonis, Dovecote, Pendil, Racing Plus
Betfair Hurdle from Newbury
Eider from Newcastle.
Summer National from Uttoxeter
Leamington Novices Hurdle, Kingmaker and Classic Chase from Warwick

I know its impossible to get them all in but there are some big races like the Grimthorpe, Rendlesham, Betfair Hurdle and Eider. Also Kempton February meeting normally has some Cheltenham horses running there as does the Albert Bartlett from Haydock.

I think the schedule is fantastic and I know it was a lot of hard work. The SO5 schedule has a lot of mistakes in it though so be careful if you're going off that. Another thing that doesn't help is the names of races changing so much these days. I might have listed a race which you have put in but didn't know of the name change.

That's because it has changed above there where six novice chases in week 12 I scrapped Ayr's future novice Chase to Coral Backing Poppyscotland H'cap Hurdle over 3miles and one race at Sandown is now a novice Hurdle in week 9 Esher Novice hurdle.

Yes I know matt Kempton as two races in Week 8 which is around February time in the schedule the problem is that that week still has some January racing you got Meeting's at Cheltenham2 races with the Dipper chase in Newbury 3 races with the Callow Hurdle Sandown 5 races with two graded1 Novice races 1 Hurdle 1 Chase warwick as 3 races with the Classic Chase Ascot as 4 races with the Victor Chandler Haydock as 3 races with two graded races aswell I have Added Ffos las with the welsh Champion Hurdle 3 races two races from Leopardstown with The Hennesey Gold Cup which left 7 races 3 from thurles taking in the Kinloch Brae Chase and a minor meeting at Carlisle 4 races.

Week 9 was also impossible to add any if you look at the schedule which I will put up this afternoon you can see not every race can be catered for I tried to refresh the schedule making sure Novices had a run through the season built good races around them then made sure that enough minor races for new trainers to aim at Matt.

Most of the list above Matt I explained in a earlier post i.e Summer National already have two nationals in week 13.
