 Re: Next Season's Flat Schedule
The issue is not really Andy dominating. This will happen no matter how many horses a trainer has. The thing is Andy won't have horses in lower grade handicaps, and more horses would allow more runners by trainers with weaker horses in these races. The only way to stop a trainer dominating is to have more grade 1 handicaps as weight is a big leveler.

 Re: Next Season's Flat Schedule
I get your point Paul I really do but Andy as already made clear he's going to aim at certain age group races yes he deserves what he got with all the dedication he puts into his breeding program and you are now doing with the Mile races Andy will aim for all the big races like he did last season so he will probably dominate group 1's again I guess there might be a few trainers putting a effort into stopping Andy lol all I can say good luck to them.

 Re: Next Season's Flat Schedule
I have not been on here much to reply.
We don't need to rush anything. Why do we need final versions of schedules when its not even mid July? We haven't had enough feedback imo. I still haven't looked at the NH schedule properly but initially it looked great. I would like to see every Grade1-3 race from UK in it and also all the top handicaps+top handicaps from the lesser tracks. I also wouldn't go off the SO5 schedule as it is not accurate.
Increasing stable size is a bad idea. It will not increase field sizes for low band handicaps. Irl many low band handicaps have small fields. Changing the bands to 0-90 and 0-110 is a good idea though we should still have some 0-75/80's for the horses rated in the 50/60's. Scrap the Vermeille but put in the Falmouth. Also research more feature handicaps for lesser tracks. Add more listed, G3 and G2's at the expense of some G1's.
I don't understand why decisions are sometimes made in days with limited consultation from our trainers. Several lesser trainers have stated they want the low band handicaps kept and have no problem with small fields.

We are not rushing into anything matt another week has to be added to the end of the flat schedule that is all I am planning on doing I wont touch anything else I will delete the Grand Finals Handicaps from the last two weeks in current schedule and place them into week 13 and then put races to take the number of races to 30. I can then put it on here for a proper discussion about the rest of the schedule and if you would like you can do it yes its not mid july the jumps schedule as been up for weeks and the only person that as talked about it is yourself I can send you the finished jump Schedule if you want it in excel it's not the one online as I have added the New League_Id Changed min age in some race's to 5+ and all the races have now got the proper Race type codes. Re: Next Season's Flat Schedule
The sooner we get the schedules done the easier it is for me to make sure that their are no issues in Tom and the league can progress to the next season.

 Re: Next Season's Flat Schedule
Personally I don't think 25 is a good idea. The bottom line is to get to the very fastest times you're going to have to set up to breed a lot of horses and eventually you find that they all run the same times and having more uploads simply means I'll have enough horses to win not only the G1s but the G2/3s as well and I don't think that's good for the league.

 Re: Next Season's Flat Schedule
I have just finished doing the extra week and moving things around in the week 11 onwards taking out the grand finals and putting them into week 13 one thing I noticed and this is something that needs sorting I don't know if Pauls Schedule was the one used this season but a lot of race type codes are in the wrong places a lot of Group races have a code of 11 when it should be 10.
I will upload what I have done week 13 have the Grand Finals plus 3 races From New Zealand 3 Races From Japan 2 Races From Maisons Laffitte and all weather Racing 3Kempton 3Lingfield 3Southwell and 3 Dundalk Including the Carligford Listed Stakes all these races are run around the same time of year so it all fits in nicely.
I will Upload the Schedule for you all to look at Tomorrow remember I have only really touched the last two weeks then we can discuss the rest of the schedule.
Gray.

 Re: Next Season's Flat Schedule
for the flat can we have more handicaps because a lot of the trainers are mostly running in handicap because they cannot compete with group class horses..like in real life most races are handicaps, sellers etc... I know that my horses will have improved from last season but I know for sure the best they will be is handicappers and I dont mind I have a lot of fun in them, I just hope we can have more because a lot of us trainers wont have group 1 horses...

Gray. Are they G1's 2yo or handicaps races? Im not sure we need more French racing, we have a lot already? Do the new races balance the schedule? We have to keep the number of races balanced ie: At 5f we have: 5 x 0-90 handicaps 5 x 0-110 handicaps 4 x listed races 4 x G2/G3 5 x G1 Do the races balance out over the season at each distance?

Sorry matt I am not touching the entire schedule I only moved the Grand Final Handicaps into week 13 and then made the numbers of races up to 30 races has that is what was requested that each week there would be 30 races a week. And then I had to make up week 12 which only had 26 races up to 30 and I took 3 races from week 11 which also had to be replaced it is pointless you asking about the spread of races when the entire schedule if what you are now suggesting will have to have a complete overall as for the French races these are 2 2yo races over 6f and 7f which are run in November if you want to do what you suggest go ahead and do the schedule I don't really care who does it.
