Re: UKRA Trainer Talk Reaction & Banter
Who entered another stable under another name?
And could there nt be a communal pacemaker provided by an independent that could be voted for use in group 1s etc. by the people with horses entered?

Quote: As for people entering two stables it is possible and we saw someone enter a small stable under a different name this season. I never knew about this??

You then reach the territory whereby a trainer could have specifically bred a front-runner to enter in the league due to lack of pace, and by introducing the pacemaker you basically give that persons horse very little chance of winning.

Very True i think 95% of the time the cream will rise to the top no matter what the pace is for instance yima i think has won 5/6 races and she is one of the best horses in the lge there are a few exceptions like in real life where you get odd results now and again

The one race without any pace that springs to mind was the Lonsdale Cup where the 2f split was 34s ish but then you had Davy's horse take the race by the scruff of the neck and rightfully won which is fine too. In some ways that was a failure to analyze the runners on my part or I would have entered Ruhanga as there are some horses that will naturally take the running on when there is a complete lack of pace (as Ruhanga would have done). The truth is I've put a bit of time into trialling pace using a variety of pacemakers and for my horses I know exactly what kind of pace they need to show their best. Anything more than 1m and as long as the 2f time is somewhere less than 27.5 ish seconds and the winner consistently posts times I expect to see. Over 28s and the time start to become a lot more variable. For 7/8f the pace has to be less than 25s for 2f otherwise I see a lot of variability. FWIW I think the league should run without pacemakers. Bear in mind I trial with some of the fastest pacemakers around. Duke makes a very good point about pacemakers and front running horses. They are not a good mix as the front runners get dragged along too quick sometimes.

Re: UKRA Trainer Talk Reaction & Banter
Well personally I'd like all the horses who finish in front of mine during the first run of a race to be removed and the race re-run. There are some improvements that can and hopefully will be made. I am of the opinion that the league has been better than ever, so maybe we are better off the way we are with the set of new trainers. If some of the 'oldies' want to join then great, but the previous leagues were very cliquey and b*tchy and frankly nasty; personally I wouldn't want that. We're probably better off as we are. I also have to agree about the pacemakers. I can't really see the point, it would be good for me as I mostly have hold up horses, but it has the potential to set races up for certain types of horses. Therefore false races, therefore a whole load of unhappy trainers.

Agree having pacemakers could open a big can of worms i believe next season some trainers might try What John did in seasons gone by and there will be even more pace in races and you might see more horses making all

I'm not sure I can take another bad ride from one of those jockeys, it is just so ANNOYING! I have mentioned it to him so fingers crossed he can sort it.

Re: UKRA Trainer Talk Reaction & Banter
You can enter a stable under a different name thats easy but to enter two stables for the same trainer will be hard. You will need another copy of the game, another ip address etc. Its not that easy to do!!!

The last one of SO4 fell apart because Steve quit and the one before was fine bar Scotty complaining about everything.

First ever flat winner!!!!!!! Felipe Baby won the Doc Hay handicap at Leicester! I don't actually play much of the flat, I am predominantly a NH trainer so a win is somewhat of a shock. Thanks to everyone for the running of the races
