 Re: Weekly Reaction
Congrats Kniesh on the Group 1. Your horses are pretty good but whats with all the states themed names? Thanks I do it for ease at the start of each season mate. I choose a state for each distance, then just add horses that have won group 1s in real life at the end of it, i.e. I could end up with 'Nebraskan Frankel' if Nebraskan was my default 1m State. This adds uniformity to my games so trialing is easier to sort when it comes to having 20-30 horses a season coming through. pjrhodes1970 wrote: SiriusChill wrote: Would it possible at all to eliminate the weight advantage 3yo's get in Group races? The way the top players play it seems 3yo's are the age of horse to have. In other words - The best players best horses are most likely 3yo's. These horses are the best in the league against all ages - and they get a weight break! Between 3 and 9 stones.
Group races should be at equal weights. Females get the usual weight break. Can this even be done? would be completely unrealistic though there has always been weight for age in real life and the league most of my 3YO dont have full potential bars where the older horses do not sure its the same for the other top flat trainers Thunderspark John Steve etc As for this I don't think it's strictly the case is it Paul. If I play a game an run a 3yo 3 or 4 times, then export it in October. the the weight allowance becomes an advantage in the league. This is due to the fact in real life these allowances change for later in the season, so they're less, i.e. the 3yo is much stronger later in the season, infact its very close to being a 4yo. I'm not sure if this is taken into account in the league, maybe the allowances should just be lowered a bit? Or just makie sure everyone is aware that the later you export 3yos in your game, the better as it should be more physically developed.

 Re: Weekly Reaction
Day 3 for me was ok - a 5th, 6th and 7th in the hunt and I am happy with that. And a 1/4 l 2nd in the last on the flat with Vittachi Moss. Good to see my horses being competitive with the weights now after a very dry first half to the season Good calls, Mike - under duress and good to see your horse finished close up in the last.

 Re: Weekly Reaction
Wednesday at Cheltenham gave the stable 2 winners, but the rest of my horses on wednesday were pretty poor.
Downstairs Maid won the G1 Triumph Hurdle Juvenile race. She made her move with 2f to go and sprinted away from the field. Wish I had some money on her as her odds were 100/1.
Capitol Girl won the Vincent O'Brian County Hurdle with an impressive run from 2f out. Capitol Girl was easily my best hurdler in my trials but she has shown no previous form in the league. It was nice to see her finally show her true potential.
What an excellent week at Cheltenham the stable has had. My horses definately benefited from the soft ground.
3 x 1st, 7 x 2nd, 2 x 3rd, 1 x 4th and 2 x 5th.
All those 2nd places, it could so nearly have been something exceptional.
With this good form, the stable also raked in about £355,000 in prize money.
Congrats to all the winners and especially John who had a totally exceptional meeting.
Great comms as usual guys.

 Re: Weekly Reaction
Wow what a week.... 2 wins on the NH (1 @ Chelts) and of course a 2nd in the Queen Mother.
My Name is Frank 2nd, gave Pauls mighty Mack a scare in the QM but that just looks unbeatable but will go up against it again I am sure at Punchestown in week 12
Greyemkay, won the Kim Muir Handicap my 1st win on the NH this year & seems fairly treated with a 11lb hike, so maybe can go in some where else again before the seasons up (I did tip it in my chelt review)
Then bang to my surprise First Light wins a hurdle qualifier smalll field but off 11'6 so big smiles all round.
Unlucky in running were Bright Mask & Karla Bright mask 2nd off 11'11 so looking good and if you watch Karla's run in the Martin Pipe very unlucky and poor jockey decisions lost the race blocked off twice in final 1.5F.
The Flat, well I had mentioned this before it was a week of group races 18, I'll say it again 18 in one week, never going to be much hope for smaller stables, so hopefully Gray will look into that as I know we want to try and cover all Group races but we have to be realistic. (Did we really need all those Longchamp G' races ???)
Although Happy Zombie's 3rd in the Cambridgeshire was nice.
Well done & thank you to all who took part & to all those who make it possible.

 Re: Weekly Reaction
Did anyone see the ride Cliff got? I think it was Tuesday's flat races. Not sure what race. Had the race in the bag, jockey completely stopped riding it. Worst I've ever seen.

 Re: Weekly Reaction
Amazing day for me one of the best of days in my career on the Flat with 3 winners and a big one at Aintree over the sticks.
Plymouth Rock As Doug will tell you this horse is as honest as they come PR has been knocking on the door all season long and after the Derby my plan was to drop him in trip with his running style i knew he would bag one sooner than latter all the credit goes to the jockey was like watching heff on Reeler in the BC a perfectly timed ride and when the stamina kicked in he went away again delighted for the horse off to stud now with him now a G1 winner winning the Champion Stakes. Plymouth Rock became my 6th individual G1 winner on the flat.
Briefcase full of Dollars Ran with credit when 2nd in the Leger (His Main Target) gained revenge on the winner Chute here winning the G2 Qatar Prix Chaudenay Stakes his 2nd group 2 win was a great front running ride by the Jockey.
Hidden Speed His 2nd win of the season winning the G3 Cornwallis which was a bit of a surprise ran a very strong race and did not see that coming very pleased.
Turning on the Style My Gold Cup horse bought in during the transfer window and has been bitterly disappointing to be honest but today was her day to win the Grade 1 Silver Bowl stayed on well and showed major improvement. She is my 5th Individual Grade one winner over the sticks.
Mack The Knife last word today has to go to him he was very brave and if it was not for his stupid trainer hed still be unbeaten but thats the way it goes he tried his best just did not stay the trip still love him.
Congratulations all the winners and placers thanks to the team great comms too lads as always best of luck to the Grand National horses tonight

 Re: Weekly Reaction
It was most kindhearted of you Ghost to run your quadruple group 1 winning horse in the listed Bet Through The Racing Post Stakes this week. Seriously? You had to run that horse in that race? I seem to remember long ago maybe in last season a pledge to keep your group winning gorillas out of listed races.

 Re: Weekly Reaction
It was a fantastic finish to the GN. Much closer than last season and quite a few horses not far away. I was happy my horse completed the course so it was a win for me. James Shea had a quiet Cheltenham Carnival which surprised me a lot. But what a way to bounce back! Congratulations
