But when you trail in RB
try same horse 5,6,7,8,9,10yo at 4m4 and 9 and 10yo win always
Darren West Tip 6yo ran fantastic at 10yo would of been a lot closer
Leon and Jamie will tell you same i hope lol
Dave Hooley ran 11yo over these ditances and ran well or won

Dell I just could do it to west tip, it was a choice of having a grand national horse or having a horse for all the season. I knew I had no chance whatever horse I put in it that's why I wanted a mad race, that was the only chance I had.

I just cant run a horse if he's not got a full bar. But saying that my horse for the long distance races next season is a 8 year old called Brown Veil. She didn't lose much bar at that age and she won my trials. She either won or fell.

thing is i have never bred older stayers before well only 1 grand national queen but she was 7 with full bar and
its obvious that they mature alot later

with my flat team i would dump a horse in the bin with any dark green on the bar
i was just wondering if Del's 10yo's had any dark green
it sounds like most 8,9,10yo's do so its a case of having to export with the dark green
this is different at the lesser distances as most of them are good at 5,6,7 with full bar (No dark green)

Two winners today, two of my fav horses as well.

Knock Hill ran a fantastic race, third win of the season.
And Brief Gale also won her third race to.

My 3m+ Chasers has had a great season and I have no idea how i'm going to keep up that standard next season.

I've only ever race them till seven, my horses fall of a cliff after six years of age. Some of my horses start losing their ability at 5, I wonder does anyone else jump horses do that.

I think west tip would have no green bar by ten. I'll get him out of retirement and have a look.

R21 Costume Fetish (11th) - never going under a big weight and was beaten with a circuit to run.
R23 Showboat (4th) - got outpaced down the hill. ran on from the home turn but was never on terms with the placed horses.
R24 Glint Of Gold (1st) - was my most likely winner this week if he jumped ok.
R25 Bad Girl (2nd) - loved the firmer going and produced a season's best effort. had no chance with the winner.
R26 Miles To Go (7th) didn't jump well and was never going. well beaten.
R27 Tuneless Wonder (1st) - faster ground was a big help and he finally did in the league what he does to all my 2m4f chasers in the ck on good.
R28 Grecian Urn (PU) Mistake 1st. was a long way behind and should have been pulled up before halfway. jockey persisted and horse got injured.
R29 Savage Island (7th) - never competitive but he did get a terrible ride.

well done to all winners and placers.

I have just found that this is true in game too. African Downs, my stayer in the league has just won the National in game as a 10 yo. He had previously been 4th, 3rd and 4th in the previous 3 years as a 7, 8 and 9 yo. I wish I'd uploaded him as a 10 yo, he doesn't have full potential, but his potential bar is only just starting to drop at nearly 11!

Big congrats to my old pal delboy on winning the Grand National. Well done buddy, it's been along time coming.

Best things come to those who wait

It takes some winning and a lot of luck.

I've always found older horses much better at the GN trip than younger horses.

8,9,10,11yo have a much better chance than anything younger.

Not sure why this is, but having done loads of experimenting and trails with Hooley in the past.

Also game breeds seem to have a great record in the race over the season, i know my winner was a GB.
