 Re: League Weekly reaction
UKRA
Race 11: Poster Art (4th) - Ran ok but would be better suited to a stiffer tack or an extra furlong. Might find an opportunity or two in low to mid grade h'caps. Race 15: Sonic Lady (5th) - Always behind. Only positive is that she should get a decent rating to work from. Race 19: Robin Hood (10th) - Drawn in the car park and hung out wide the whole way. Decent effort considering. Just hope he gets a nice rating. Race 20: Dame Dolly: (10th) - Poor ride. Only consolation is she might get in to the h'caps off a very lenient mark.
NHRA
Race 11: Hope Springs (2nd) - Great effort and a bit of a surprise to see her go so close. Race 12: Rat Pack (4th) - Good run but race was not run as a NHF. Race 13: Gambit (F) - Fell before halfway. Trip was too far anyway. Race 17: Rupert Bear (U 12th) - Struggling to keep up when jockey bailed out. Race 18: Mugshot (11th) - Pace pusher that wasn't quick enough to get to the front here. Will be targeting low grade h'caps. Race 19 Dolly Peel (4th) - Much more encouraging after the last few races. Might have finished closer with a better jump at the last. Race 20: Sonic Boom (6th) - ran ok but never looked like getting on terms with the leaders.
That Beggars Banquet must be some horse to get that close to a win considering how wide it ran.

 Re: League Weekly reaction
Quick rundown of the first 2 days. Flat Most of them out of their depth and just getting a rating but have managed a 5th and 2 6ths which is top notch for me. One of the 6ths was with a gamebred (leger trial) so that really suprized me. If there is a listed gamebred race over 1m4f to 2m then he will take some beating. Jumps Most of them were just thrown in to get some runners and ran appallingly but managed to get a winner!!! My first ever week 1 winner in race 14 3m1f hurdle with a gamebred. As others have said it is possible to be competitive with gamebreds over the jumps, at least over the longer distances. I will try him over fences as well soon as he is probably just as good at that, but may need further, stayed 4 miles in game. I did notice a few very odd incidences of horses pulling up whilst still in contention, my main national horse did it 3 out in race 16 but it should help his handicap mark; I did tell the jockey to go easy

 Re: League Weekly reaction
A 4th (4 way photo) for Lockport Swindle in the 1m2 Maiden is massive for me, ran 6 or 7 wide the whole way too so could be more to come. I was about to delete all my horses an games an start again too after the first days performance, but this makes it look like I could compete a bit better than I thought at 1m2.

 Re: League Weekly reaction
Flat
R11 - 3rd - Rock Band, ran a decent race will hopefully be competitive in the top 5f handicaps this season. R16 - 6th - Cragside, ran alot better than the trial race, another destined for handicaps probably go for the Lincoln next, but will be high enough. R17 - 2nd - Play The Game, cracking run will be looking for a listed/group mares race for her. R18 - 8th - Shut Eye, bit disappointing will do well to get a win with him. R19 - 12th - Worhsipped, Looks like a poor hanndicapper, extra furlong will help him though. R20 - 7th - Indian Stream, 1m2-3f handicaps.

 Re: League Weekly reaction
NH
R11 - 5th - Female Racer. pleasing race, jumped well. 2m 5f races will be on the agenda, possibly Paddy Power. R14 - 14th - Nutcracker, ran a shocker. R13 - Unseated - Gee Dee Nen, disappointed he couldn't complete, Welsh National is his target. R14 - 4th - Pottery Pool, ran well drop back a couple of furlongs may bring out a bit of improvement. Pertemps qualifiers for him. R15 - 2nd - Bombay Barman, a great run, pinged every fence. A top jumper of a fence, 2m 6f-3m chases for him. R16 - Fell - Uncle Dermot, didn't get a chance to show his potential. R17 - 5th - Annecy, good run, hopefully theres a 2m 4f mares chase. R18 - 8th - Nightowls, average run, handicap hurdles for him. R19 - Unseated - Soul Cal, yet another who couldn't complete
That's a 2nd/3rd/4th and 5th in both codes now. Please just give me a winner!!!

 Re: League Weekly reaction
Not the start I was looking for! My first ever runner in the league (I've not played in any season before) unseated before the race had got down to the business end. I have a very small stable of mostly NH game bred horses so I'm not expecting much on this, my first foray into online league play. Hopefully I can find the time to breed some nice home bred horses to enter up later in the season. R17 - The Composer (U) - Was travelling OK in mid div at the time. Jumped a couple of fences slowly but no serious mistake until clipping the top of one, sending the jockey into orbit much to the dismay of punters who backed the horse at all rates from 25/1 into 4/1 favouritism! Hoping for a finisher or 2 tomorrow.

Who knows where this gamebred goes next Brimfield and Ukraine also made the money, looks like my stayers could be decent. Overall very pleased with my jumpers today Christmas river was VERY impressive. Good to see Colin Clarke getting maiden winners FLAT They all ran shockers but that is to be expected. When do the handicaps start?? Well done to all winners and placers Where does Northumbrain Belle go, the Festival.

He will need to be good over fences because he's certainly a very good hurdler. U beat my horse, I knew u shouldn't have fixed that computer of yours.

Vinny if this is u first season then that's a great start, my best finish in my first week in the league was 9th and my highest rated horse was 70 . U should never throw away any horse because it gives u a bench mark for the mid season window, if u are a rookie then the first season is always a learning season. Everyone's had to go through it to find out what the leagues all about, that applies to all rookie trainers.

 Re: League Weekly reaction
so far gone as expected with lots of mid division places a 3rd place in a stayers hurdle beaten little signalled some hope for graded company but other then that its handicaps and uphill battles , had 5 inners I think last league over jumps be amazed if I get anywhere near that this time round looks like the handicaps could be brutally hard to win !!!!

 Re: League Weekly reaction
Only three runners on the flat but a lovely winner in Rakopshi King.
Flat
Warrshan 2 - The jockey should get banned under the non tries rule.
Vintage Crop 7 - Ran a shocker, never near.
Rakopshi King 1 - A total unknown, only bred last Thursday while watching the festival and I was only messing about. Only trialled in three races so we shall see where it takes him.
Jumps
Mister McGoldrick 3 - Nice horse and should have a bit of fun with him.
Eudipe 4 - I think my 3m4 horses are probably a week point of my team, no real big targets.
Shuil Ar Agaigh 2 - Nice performance and will run in all the top 3m hurdle races on good ground, might be put away until the spring.
Florida Pearl 1 - Love this horse, could be anything. The RSA chase is the big aim, might not run again until that race.
Pomme Tiepy 6 - Happy enough with my national horse, not sure where she goes next.
The Grey Monk 2 - It taken ages to get a good front running grey, should have some fun with him this season.
Christams River 1 - Could be as good as my top hurdler of SO5 Mossvile. Might go straight to the Mares race at the Festival.
Lauras Dream 1 - The dream( Gold Cup) is still alive, might also go straight to the Gold Cup. A fantastic Jumper.
High Knowl 2 - The oldest( October 2014) horse in the stable, a real tough horse who should have some fun in the winter months.
