Only a 4th today from the ever consistent Archenfield.

Need more tomorrow in the hope of getting through in the dual code champs.

Well done to all winners and placers

I thought I've seen it all.... but then Come On Jazz happened...

Race 8. Neptune Investment Handicap.

Come On Jazz set his usual front early pace and just was happy and content. Trying to make it home first for some extra cookies, he was leading. But he started to tire as the carrot he had before the race got to him. But then, just as he looked to be out of it, he re-rallies and takes the lead with a furlong left. Alright it is all over. He won, goes gets his cookies, and races as a two time winner......... but then he loses. Swift Picura re-rallied to take the lead...

I'm soooo happy that I wasn't calling that race cause I would have just quit at the end. Wow.
Not sure what to do with Come On Jazz yet. Still leaning towards the Arc and BC Turf as year end goals, but thinking I might put him in a 1m5f race next, or keep him at the 1m4f handicaps. He is developing nicely. In the past, the moment he lost the lead he would just tire. He is getting better.

What a fascinating race to watch!!! I noticed mj that Come on Jazz missed the start by about 1 length which means it would have been a lot closer in the finish (yes this thinking does apply in the race sequence) and may have won but all credit to the winner Swift Picura trained by Nick Driver.

it surprised me that he kicked again.......I almost called him the winner then Swift Picura rallied again. Bad luck but he is starting to show some consistent form which must be pleasing!

Don't know what the problem is with my novice hurdler, toast of new york. His last 2 starts he's been very weird, he's been out the back all the way and fly's home into midfield. Never raced like that before.

Also I've had 9 horses pull up this season, its an absolute joke but I'm guessing its a kit problem. Not all of them were hold up horses either.

Two nice flat winners so far this week though and 1 over national hunt so can't complain too much.
Commander won nicely on his 2nd start after running 2nd at Royal Ascot on debut.
Looking forward to seeing how Vroom Vroom Mag runs. Looks well in at the weights given its a graded race.
