so far gone as expected with lots of mid division places a 3rd place in a stayers hurdle beaten little signalled some hope for graded company but other then that its handicaps and uphill battles , had 5 inners I think last league over jumps be amazed if I get anywhere near that this time round looks like the handicaps could be brutally hard to win !!!!

I think the form of that Hurdle should stand up, I think a lot of my runner in that race. She was my top hurdler until Chritmas River came along.

Post Re: League Weekly reaction
This is why I love the league. You upload your horses thinking you strong in one area only to be totally wrong. My stayers don't seem much good but my milers do, considering my best 3 milers are in my NH team, it really bodes well for my 2 mile hurdlers and chasers

Flat

R12 : Pass the Sugar 6th: Traveled wide met interference. 6th but clear of the rest. Should win a race and may get some black type.
R13 : Hallucinations 2nd: Drawn 16 traveled 8 wide. Finished strongly. Happy with the 2nd. She is very good at some courses so could get me some wins.
R15 : In Bloom 4th: Did not like the pedestrian pace
R16: Vanilla 1st: Came from near last, cruised into the lead and won easily. Great performance
R17: Khoisan 5th: Given a shocking ride. The idiotic jockey was still motionless with a furlong and half to go. Eventually he decided to start riding the horse once he let 6 or 7 past him. Will improve based on that. Note : Please keep Millman away from my horses !!!!
R18: Game of War 6th: Too short but did enough to suggest that he is on course for his target the Chester Cup and should get in with a nice rating
R19: Innovation 7th : Never showed only had 3 behind with a furlong to go, finished strongly to pass some beaten horses. Heading for handicaps
R20: Knight Of Secrets 5th: Balked for a run for about 2 furlongs, when she got clear race was over, and then eased near finish. Could challenge in group races. By the way its meant to be Night of Secrets :)

NH

R11 Cosmic Puppet 4th: Jumped well, traveled well, ran out of gas. Clearly doesn't stay, will be kept to shorter
R12 Aztec Warrior race will be rerun
R13 Screeching Owl 3rd : Jumping was an issue when it mattered, but a great result for the league with Follis and Sirius ahead of me so happy to not spoil the bumper exacta :)
R14 Trading Route P : Can't assess got injured.
R15 Speakeasy Exploratory run for my top 2m5 novice chaser. Jumped well but got tired as found 3 miles to far
R16 Beggars Banquet 2nd : Did not follow the script, was supposed to hang right and finish near the back and get a nice rating. He hung right all right and carried a few with him and then proceeded to only loose the race on a bob of a head. Much better over further. The only horse I have ever had that won the gold cup and grand national in the same season in game. Considering the way he hangs right it is an incredible achievement. There some staying chase races at Punchestown he should prove hard to beat in. Going to be interesting the carnage he may course in The Grand National lol
R17: Bekend 3rd : Had Speakeasy and Bekend in the wrong races, should have swapped them around. Found this too short and needs further. Ran on when the race was over to snatch third.
R19: Sistine Chappel 6th: Th plan was for him to be finish further back. Did hang right but still ran ok. Better over further as well, can get 3m5. Should tot up in a handicap going the way he his happy with.

Happy with my performances. Nothing was expected to run well considering the issues mentioned above but some flat horses exceeded expectations and I now possess some important information on my NH horses for the rest of the campaign

Had a winner with Dretti on the flat!! Can't remember the last time I had a flat winner.
All of my flat horses have ran well so far. Most were top 5.

Kings Past won for me over jumps too. I really think he and Kings Future who was 2nd, can be top league horses.

Delighted so far with how mine have run.

Avondale Days finishing down the field as expected. Might step up in trip.
Aztec Warrior finishing a close 6th was encouraging. Might go chasing next time just to open up the options.
Under Sew was a little disappointing and will also step up in trip. Might also go hurdling.
The Riffbird was never going to be anything special, so falling perhaps creates a few excuses!
Two Sweet was inexplicably pulled up when still being with the field, albeit held up. We'll try a similar race again...

Brought back to Earth with a bump with todays races!

Flat

R21 Appriciate 3rd- Solid run. A better horse on turf so can hopefully pick up a win soon.
R22 Fly On 1st- Won the 6f trial race at Dundalk so thought he could have a chance and he won well.
R24 No Class 2nd- Was hopping to get a handicap mark as I didn't think this 8yo National Hunt reject would be able to compete in listed/group class. Very surprising run to finish 2nd.
R27 Dilalil 5th- Good run. Got outpaced so will try over an extra furlong next week.
R28 Simply Sweet 1st- My best horse over longer distances. Delighted to just hang on for the win.
R29 My Red 1st- My most impressive winner this week! Went clear 1f out, hopefully can repeat in Dubai next week.

Jumps

After a good first day the other two haven't been as good. Most horses have finished around midfield or fell. However, some promise with Never who ran on strongly from the rear to finsh 4th in the 2m1f Chase.

Flat - 3 sneak into the money with 2 just outside, they all seem to finish off their races which is a very good sign.

R21 - Devils Caviar (5th) - Huge run, got the perfect run of the race just didn't have the class to get there, Royal Ascot awaits this one.
R22 - Jet (18th) - The complete opposite, the tank just emptied in the final furlong and may need to make the switch to 5f.
R23 - Captain Scarlett (5th) - Good run, just didn't have the chance to get into the race and probably not classy enough. Will find winnable chances throughout the season.
R24 - Starzilla Quay (8th) - Very dissapointing, what is my usual strongpoint training stayers could be in tatters! I do hope both her and Death Rattle bounce back.
R26 - Power Ranger (7th) - Outpaced and just not good enough against the better horses, will be aimed at the big field handicaps.
R29 - Swift Picura (5th) - Big run after a shocking trials performance when dropping away at the end, 1m3f seemed to suit.

NHC - One in the money and plenty others showing good signs
R21 - Juppy (11th) - Outpaced and not good enough, should get a lenient mark and will be aimed at the pertemps.
R22 - The Sun God (7th) - Was in with a chance of winning before completely belting the last and dropping out, certainly races to be won with this one.
R25 - Cantankerous (19th) - Only good thing to come out of this will be a good mark.
R27 - Cape Coast (8th) - Mediocre run and nothing to write home about.
R29 - Simeone (5th) - Monster over the mile on the flat and has kept that quality over fences, great run.
R30 - Superstardeejay (9th) - Ran as expected in the midfield behind the big boys.

Looking forward to the handicaps and feel I could pick up a few winners, well done all winners and placers from this week.

NH

2 more in the money today, Tuvalu 3rd in a small field maiden and Bromyard and good looking 5th.
A couple of fallers today but overall I am pleasantly surprised because I have not had the time to breed as much as normal

FLAT

No horses have made the money this week which is a shame but it is all about the handicaps on the flat because the main priority has always been the jumps for me.

PJ - You came last in a hurdle bearing your own name! Could not believe that

Day 3 Results

UKRA
Not many runners today just 3 Azz De Mei ran well in the 2m4 maiden finishing 4th and
was the highlight of the day

Reaction to Week 1 - Overall im delighted with the Flat team some good performances and
every one of them got a run 3 winners and plenty of places alot to look forward to.

NHC
KABOOM got my first winner and it was much needed and came Courtesy of Roberta Bertha
(Who Is More of a 4miler) Black Coffee ran well in 7th at a trip slightly too short for him looks
like i have 2 National Horses I Have to manage Very Very carefully now Chesterton ran a
cracker in 2nd Cleopatra ran ok in the Juve race

Reaction to Week 1 - A bit of a culture shock im way behind the top trainers as the trials
pointed I would be some of the runs were too bad to be true but remain positive I have plenty of well
handicapped horses to go to war with and there are plenty of winners in this team I doubt there
is a Grade One Winner amongst them now though But You NEVER Know

8 runners in total on the flat, 3 inside the top 10, 2 of which in the top 5. Not a bad start for me considering only having a few weeks of playing time to get anything ready. makes me hopeful of being able to pick up a couple of H'caps maybe throughout the season.

Also I will be working massively on my breeding so hopefully, come next season I can get some horses primed for some group efforts..

Lockport swindle looking the best of my bunch so far, being nabbed right on the line, may be even better over 1m1. Odd horse as its breeding is originally from 5f horses

UKRA

Race 21 Young At Heart (11th) - Better over further in trials so amazed she had the speed to lay up with the pace especially from a wide draw. Ran a massive race for 4f before getting swamped.
Race 24 Drunken Master (Last) - Wins worst performance of the week award from my lot which is some achievement considering how bad most of them have run. Just hope it was the dirt he didn't like.
Race 25 Blue Mast (7th) - In my stable to boost the numbers. Will be aimed at the lowest grade h'caps he can run in.
Race 26 Dawn Dancer (10th) - missed the break and never got into the race.
Race 27 All Seeing Eye (7th) - Ran well enough. hopeful he can pick up a little h'cap at some point during the season.

NHRA

Race 22 Green Bay (10th) - Given a shocking ride.
Race 23 Flying Frankie (11th) - started slowly and got slower.
Race 24 Lucky Duck (5th) - solid effort. Going can't be too soft for this one.
Race 25 Donkey Kong (8th) - Encouraging debut over an inadequate trip.
Race 28 Gyr (4th) - Solid effort on a track that didn't suit.
Race 29 Angel Delight (13th) - Had a lovely run round Hexham carpark

Overall a desperately poor week for my stable but if you start at rock bottom, the only way is up :D
Well done all winners and placers and thanks to Doug for the comms.

Quick rundown of the first 2 days.

Flat
Most of them out of their depth and just getting a rating but have managed a 5th and 2 6ths which is top notch for me. One of the 6ths was with a gamebred (leger trial) so that really suprized me. If there is a listed gamebred race over 1m4f to 2m then he will take some beating.

Jumps
Most of them were just thrown in to get some runners and ran appallingly but managed to get a winner!!! My first ever week 1 winner in race 14 3m1f hurdle with a gamebred. As others have said it is possible to be competitive with gamebreds over the jumps, at least over the longer distances. I will try him over fences as well soon as he is probably just as good at that, but may need further, stayed 4 miles in game.
I did notice a few very odd incidences of horses pulling up whilst still in contention, my main national horse did it 3 out in race 16 but it should help his handicap mark; I did tell the jockey to go easy  :)

Darren congrats on u winner that is one tough horse. He will need to be good over fences because he's certainly a very good hurdler.

U beat my horse, I knew u shouldn't have fixed that computer of yours.

Thank you John.
I feel sorry for our Australian commentator (who does a fantastic job) when it comes to your horse, I hope he has some Irish ancestry!
