WK3 R7 Qatar Handicap SPOILT FOR CHOICE Nice sprinter looks well handicapped coud go close

R24 Early Bird Nursery GREY SOLDIER drop to 5f maybe what is needed and in a poor race could go close.

R25 Inception Nursery BASIC WAGE win in last weeks 5f was a plus will be better over this distance but looks like a big field but still might be well handicapped as chances to make two in a row.

Post Re: UKRA Trainer Talk Reaction & Banter
Its going to be a bad week for me.....

Race 1 2000 Guineas - Shot Sunday. 3rd-5th at best

Race 2 1000 Guineas - Bobs Bits. No chance

Race 4 Palace House Stakes - Go Red Sky.Should be placed though has penalty for placing in G1

Race 6 Jockey Club - High Hopes. Again should place but not a good track for him.

Race 12 Chester Vase - Rile Him Up. Leger horse so trip and track not going to suit but needs the run.

Race 13 Cheshire Oaks - Get Genius. Second to Yima

Race 14 Dante - It Brasher. Trip too short though could spring a surprise

Race 15 Musidora - Ya Filly. Same as It Brasher

Race 16 Yorkshire Cup - Out For A Walk. Need a good pace or will be tapped for toe.

Race 17 Duke Of York - Go Morning Three. Robbed twice and now has a penalty for place in G1. Should go close again

Race 23 Kentucky Derby - Go Go B N B. Think he is best suited to this race out of all our horses. Taran is a machine.

Race 29 Abruzzi Maiden - Swet. Certainty off 85 in a nursery but none over 7f. Met trouble in running last week and should go close.

Im summary a week to already write off. Look forward to other classics and getting Go Morning. Get It B N B and Feat Ping back on the racetrack.

Good luck to all in the classics.

Only 5 entries so far and none of them are natural frontrunners. Definitely a lack of pace so far.

I entered Top Bay she a dirt lover and likes 1m2 hoping for a decent 3rd or 4th and will be very happy..Taran got the race won..

Two big first runs this week.

Polar Calatagan in the Group 2 Jockey Club Stakes. Up against Was Not Wrong II and High Hopes so will have to be good to win. Loves firmer ground and wipes the floor with all of my stable over 1.2m to 1.6m (including those who have been placed in group races so far). The only horse that gets close to him is....

Calatagan Adamay running in the Group 2 Yorkshire Cup. Similar to PC, very strong over 1.2m - 1.6m but not as consistent. 1.6m is not the horse's strongest distance but i need to give him a run.

Not ideal entering boths horses into Group 2 races for their first runs but this does fit in with my strategy of prioritising prize money over wins. Only got them uploaded just before window closed in Week 2 and TOM was playing up so couldn't get them into races. I expect big things of Polar Calatagan and hoping that he will be another contender to win Group 1 races. Big shout with some of AKHC's, Beaky's and Pauls contending but if Polar Calatagan can't win over 1.2m - 1.4m then none of my horses can (which is probably the case).

Hugely surprised if both don't finish in the places on their preferred ground.

Strongest horse at 1.6m will be uploaded in week 5.

Race 1 - Patriarchal - Maiden effort over 7f last week was encouraging even if the week 1 performance wasn't up to standards. Is my best horse over the 1m at Newmarket, beating Sir Slick in all trials, so if Sir Slick is competitive in the 1000 he should be thereabouts in the 2000.
Race 2 - Sir Slick - To be honest this horse has by far outperformed expectations. Top 5 and I would be happy. Will run in all 3yo Group races over 7f/1m now anyway due to the handicap rating being smashed.
Race 5 - Al The Postman - Will appreciate the firmer ground, top 10 chance.
Race 8 - Xcellerant - Am forgiving the first run as she was trapped wide, this might be a furlong too far but she should put in a good showing.
Race 10 - Longitude - Will be happy if it can run within 5l of the winner, no high hopes in the league for this one.
Race 13 - Rock The Ksbah - Not expecting much
Race 24 - Usquedelle - Needs 7f but there was only 1 7f race this week. Won't be close with the high weight.
Race 25 - Saintly - Will relish the firmish conditions, and should be close in the finish.
Race 26 - Tinman - Ideally placed if it doesn't perform then it may be a transfer candidate.
Race 29 - Troublesome Threes - Watch its last start, one of the worst rides of seen. Breaks well and is then restrained, is then restrained further when the other back markers start to make their move, gets going late but is never close. Needs a better jockey this time out.
Race 30 - Storm Surfer - No high hopes here.

Best of the day - Sir Slick
Best roughie - Saintly

Here are my flat runners:

Race 3: Suffolk Stakes: Oak Crystal Lodge: Joint top weight after finishing 1/2 and 1/2 down in 3rd in a 1m1f maiden. I do think he'll need further but there wasn't a 1m2f race that I wanted to, or could enter him in. I hope that he'll run on well up the Newmarket hill.

Race 9: Earl of Sefton Stakes: Oak Suffolk Crystal: I hope that it is ok to enter her, she is un-raced but seemed to be best over 1m-1m2f in CK, preferring 1m1f. Maybe she can make a bit of a mark, but I'm not too confident.

Race 11: Ormonde Stakes: Oak Honduran Crystal: 3rd in a 1m3f race last week which was a shock. As he ran so well I thought I'd take the plunge and enter a group race. 1m5f will be right up his street, but he's a hold up horse so Chester won't suit. He surprised last week so hopefully he can surprise again.

Race 21: Musselburgh Gold Cup: Oak Crystal Currency: He ran over 2m on his maiden run and I though he could handle it, but after making ground he BOMBED and finished last. 1m6f should be better for him and he has a nice mark.

Race 30: Halling Maiden: Oak Constable Rose: She's a really nice filly and hopefully like first two will run well. She'll be aimed at fillies races if I can.

Race 32: Victoria Cup: Oak Charlie Wolf: 6th in a 7f week 2 maiden after pulling really hard. I think he'll prefer a mile, he has an ok mark in the middle of the handicap so hopefully he can run well again.

Just been looking at the trainers page on Tom and we've got a pretty good spread of nationalities- just need a French and a Japanese trainer and all major racing countries will be represented, plus a few others. Also, is Needglue from hong kong?

Do you think you could edit the wp files to make a Japanese and French trainer Ubar, then we could have the full spread!

(sorry, it had to be done!)

Heads up in the 27'th. The Paul Rhodes 0-80 handicap. Shad Run carrying low weight off a generous rating could quite well steal away on a easy lead and not look back.

Dark Regime is now in the Kentucky Derby. The small field and lack of competition for the lead will suit. However he is a 12f horse with an entry in the Derby. Nevertheless he will be thereabouts although its probably not the right distance for him

I might put Shergar in the Kentucky Derby just to annoy Dark Regime for the lead.

But seriously might just fling him in, decent horse, wants 1m5 on turf, never tried him on dirt or at the trip but there is nothing else for him.

For anyone that's interested and/or wants to avoid her, here's heroic quest's planned race schedule.
http://sopl.info/tom11/view-form.php?link=1384
Bear in mind weeks 6-8 and week 11 are not set in stone and will depend on results etc., but the rest are pretty certain. Just on a side note, what are the weight penalties for g1,g2,g3 win, g1,g2,g3 placed etc.?
