ok correct me if im wrong a horse MUST run within 2f either side of its maiden run there are a few who wont get a run if this is the case

point 2 if you run your horse in grp or listed race as a maiden that horse will not get a run for the rest of the season due to an inflated rating be smart with your horse management

As far as I know this only applies to handicaps.

Can you post up the problem horses Steve.

Might be a case of new trainers not reading the rules.

in the 1st race 2 horses are running 4 1/2 f shorter/further 3 are maidens in a grp2 thats just the 1st

problem is they will mess up their rating not win a race then leave with 9 weeks left

Maidens are allowed in Group 2 but not Group 1 perhaps Next season we should tweak not allowing horse's below a certain Rating but that has to be discussed especially Group 1 Races say 95 Group 2 90 and Group 3 85 May be a way forward for next Season although i'm not waiting until next year steve  more like the Autumn.

its a 9.5 f race 1 ran over 1m6f the other over 5 f sheer madness u must know your best trip within 2f or at least if hes a sprinter or a stayer or just guess the trip

ratings dont bother me if youre willing to sacrifice a mark then thats fine its trip guessing and unrated horses that are the real problem it proves some people just dont understand this game

Maidens not allowed in group1's but allowed in everything else as there are not enough maidens in the upload windows.

Horse can run over any distance they want if it is not a handicap

Handicap spreads are in place for handicaps.

Basically if your horse is amongst the eligible horses and its not a maiden in a handicap or non game bred horse in a game bred race it can run

The solution is for the handicapper not to punish the horses trying to get a mark and then there should be no real issue. If a horse already has a rating and is in the race then it could get its rating increased.

I stated in the race comments for the Winter Derby my entrant was in just for a mark not expecting the better than expected (but still poor) performance. He got a 102 when I know realistically he should be a 90. Damn the racing gods!!!

Can you please clarify the flat handicap rule - you can run 2 furlongs either side of your best maiden run? I thought it was 1 furlong.

ok i wil re route all my maidens from group races to maidens and the winners to handicaps thats the reverse isnt it if i have to race against 15 on a tight track get drawn wide may as well carry a bit more weight on an open track its not as if the the money counts towards the title

Maidens aren't allowed in group 1s??

Do you mean horses that haven't ran?

Maidens aren't allowed in Group 1's???? My Kentucky Derby horse has a big chance of being a maiden on Derby Day. This wasn't the rule last year was it? Please tell me this will be changed. I will be most upset if I can't get in the Derby.

Or does this rule apply only on week 2? I repeat I will be most upset if I can't get into the Derby.
