Just being involved in the trails is a great learning experience.
Since these races are all open class it can be tough going but once the league starts and the handicap races get going, things will be much more exciting and I am sure your horses will be much more competitive :-)

The gulf between 1st and 2nd is slim and there are three trials, the top group will feature before the league starts :)
