I know each season we debate the number of races each week. It's easier to remember issues or ways to improve as we go. Thought we could post in here. Just an idea Other point would be, if we removed some races, we may need to open up week 1 to double entry races |

Week 1 flat suggestion There should be a 1m4 3yo colts only and fillies only maidens, I feel they shouldn't be taking each other on before the Derby/Oaks Change 3yo 1m1f fillies maiden R15 to 1m2f, like the colts race, it will make a better trial for French Oaks/Derby Remove 2 of the 1m2f 3yo+ maidens and the 1m5f and 1m7f ,that frees up 3 races that week |

Week 1 NH suggestions Hurdles Change one of the 2m hurdles to 2m1 Remove one of the 2m4 hurdles and the 2m6 hurdle, still have 3 maiden races from 2m3 to 2m5 then Remove one of the 3m hurdles, still 2 maiden races then at 3m/3m1 Change Galway Hurdle to G3 Novice hurdles Change one of the 2m hurdles to 2m1 Chases Remove one of the 2m1 chases, still be 2 races from 2m/2m1 Change 2m6 chase to 2m5 Add a 3m3 Maiden, another option for 3m2.5f gold cup horses Change Galway Plate to G3 Novice Chases Change one of the 2m to 2m1 Change one of the 2m4 to 2m5 or 2m3 ,already have a 2m4 race Change one of the 3m to 3m1 Remove the 3m2 , no other races over 3m1 4 races freed up, taking it to 35 Change the sharp tracks at Taunton and Hereford, I don't think these are a good idea for maidens |

Week 2 There are 11 races this week at 7f or 8f for 3yo and 4yo horses. It's now 1pm Friday and there is only one race with a big field, race 1. I did not count exact numbers in the rest but about half the races have about 10 runners, the others about 5 runners. Do we need all these races over very similar distances? Also, there are three 2yo 5f races. |

Week 2 flat suggestions There are three 5f 2yo races ,No 2yo 7f race so change the 5f maiden to 7f One 1m4 3yo open maiden, would like to see a colt and a filly race Three 1m handicaps, I'd like to see R28 change to 0-70 or 0-80 handicap to help more horses go into the Lincoln, there is the Doncaster Handicap too, this doesn't help too, be good if we could change The Doncaster Handicap and the other race at Randwick Queen of the Turf to Wk3 if possible Keep George Ryder G1 in week 2, just looked this comes before other races irl too Two 1m2f G1s, Australian Cup comes first irl, so keep at wk2 and move Q.E Stakes to wk3. That would be all 3 Randwick races to wk3 Maybe need a 1m2 and 1m4 maiden That removes 3 races but adds 3, so no races freed up. My suggestions that freed up 3 races wk1, but thinking about it may need to keep the maidens in wk1 if more trainers join, not easy this but maybe see if can lower the races in other weeks |
