Post Grand National form guide and expert opinion
Back by popular demand my form guide and expert tips for the National. If there are any late entries I will add them in. Not quite sure how the format of the below will look once I hit submit, so hopefully it is readable.

Fun fact: The last five winners have all carried 9 12 to victory. Will something from outside the handicap win again this year?

Form...Horse.............................Trainer..................Age...Weight
7952...National King..................Joshua Sutherland...10...12 0
Third in this last year carrying top weight. Carries top weight again this time but his legs are a year older and he's spent the whole season lugging around 12st.

U311...National Blitz..................Joshua Sutherland...9...11 11
Comes in with great form with two wins in last two starts but meets top contenders worse off in the weights. Will need some luck to carry this weight to victory.

1U4....Tullamarine.....................John Morgan...........9...10 6
Lightly raced. Won over the distance back in week 3 beating National Blitz by 7 3/4L off of level weights and is 19lbs better off here. Going maybe against but big threat to stablemate.

13......Drumlargen.....................John Morgan...........9...9 13
Only the third run of the season and has therefore avoided the handicapper's gaze. Won a maiden back in week 2 and was 4 1/4L third to National Blitz two weeks ago. Meets him 19lbs better off here. Major Player.

F61F...Condemnation..................Paul Parsons...........7...9 13
Winner two starts ago in lesser company and over shorter distance. Doubts on whether he will stay the trip.

5107...Mayhem On Ice................Darren Thompson...9...9 12
Trainer knows how to win this having saddled the winner last year. Winner three weeks ago beating home Seek And Destroy and National Blitz but tables were reversed last week over longer distance when he could only manage 23L 7th to National Blitz. May be too far.

5591...Ronaldo...........................Matt Cooper...........9...9 12
Winner last time out at Cheltenham over 3m7f. This is a step up in class and distance.

5751...Advantage To The Enemy...Darren Thompson...8...9 12
Winner last week over 4m against lesser opposition. Did finish 8L behind National Blitz five weeks ago off level weights at this distance. Deserves respect.

1445...Closing Argument.............Paul Parsons...........7...9 12
Might have snuck under the handicapper's radar and considered better than stablemate. 15 1/2L fifth last week to National Blitz but is 27lbs better off. Each way chance.

3222...Wasted Sunset................Martin Leedham........9...9 12
Good recent form in lesser company. 5 1/4L 6th to Condemnation in week 5, but is only 1lb better off here. Each way chance at best.

2375...Seek And Destroy.............David Hooley..........8...9 12
Second over 4 miles four weeks ago beating home National Blitz by 3/4L although trailed in 15 1/2L seventh to same horse two weeks later over 4m4f. This may be too far.

22U6...Cumbrian Dancing...........David Robertson......8...9 12
Sixth last week to National Blitz beaten by just 15 1/2 lengths. 24lbs better off this week. Trainer has a good record in this. Outside chance.

6023...Katie Holmes...................Matt Cooper............9...9 12
Fourth last year and carries same weight this time. 1 1/4L second to National Blitz two weeks ago and is 20lbs better off in the weights. Outside chance.

6F5F...Paix Thatch......................David Robertson......9...9 12
Winner over 3m7f back in week 3 but recent form has not been good. At its best could factor in the places but would need significant improvement.

04F5...Nicholas Silver.................Martin Leedham.......9...9 12
Only finished once in the places this season and that was over 3m5f in week 8. Carrys a National winning name but hard to see it replicating its namesake.

0004...Old English.....................Derek Hinton...........8...9 12
Long way out of the handicap and last week's fourth is best finish of the season when finishing 3/4L behind Katie Holmes who he meets 13lbs worse off this week. Hard to see it figuring.

8189...Mezzotint.......................Derek Hinton...........11...9 12
Oldest horse in the race. Winner three weeks ago in a field of three. 17L 8th to National Blitz two weeks ago and is 20lbs better off but others have better credentials.

3087...Agara Macrae.................Alex Cherie..............10...9 12
Third in a maiden four weeks ago is best performance of the season. 15 1/4L 7th to Ronaldo last week off level weights. Hard to make a case.

0008...Bible Pleasure.................Stu Grey...................8...9 12
Third in week 2 is highlight of the season. Was a distant 21 1/2L tenth to National Blitz two weeks ago. Would need huge improvement here to figure.

62F8...Gettabuzz......................Alex Cherie................7...9 12
Distant eighth last week to National Blitz by 24L. Is 27lbs better off but others have stronger claims.

My tips:
1st...Drumlargen
2nd...Tullamarine
3rd...Advantage To The Enemy
4th...Closing Argument

Would love to see everyone's tips on here too

It’s always won off 9 12 as I always have something that blows the handicap out of the water and I get 12 and everyone else gets 9 12 :). This time I have two ……..

I’m hoping for big runs from both of mine. Although both will need to jump better than they gave this season
