 Where we are now
We are looking at getting the league under away on either 23 or 30 March. With one of these dates being the closing date for entries. However these dates are subject to Tom being ready.
In the mean time testing would need to be done on Tom. It would happen in the form of trial races, taking place in 2 or 3 weeks time dependent on whether Tom is ready or not.
Entry for the trial races will be done on Tom. This should achieve three things: allow bugs in Tom to be fixed; test the new race kit; and give everyone an idea where they stand.
My suggestion for the trial races is a 12 race card for both NH and the flat on neutral courses.
It may be a good idea to allow the same horse to be entered twice by each trainer. (ONLY ONE OF THESE PER TRAINER) So one double entry horse per trainer and the horse must be entered in either a 3 or 4 furlong distance spread. i.e over 1mile and 14f. This will ensure that distance spread rules are accurate for the coming season
Just need some ideas as to distances and courses for the trials

 Re: Where we are now
Update on Flat
Agree with Leon a thorough testing of TOM in the form of trials would be a good idea
Vote on distance rules is ongoing so far 2 furlongs each side of declared best distance has a lead
The Schedule is an issue with only 1 week of maidens this could be an issue & after chatting with Matt maybe splitting the 8 race handicap G1 finals over the last 2 weeks of the season could be the way to go i am told it would not be a difficult job to add these but to be honest with my inexperience i have no clue who designs schedules for tom
I think everyone seems pretty happy with the core of the (RICH) schedule 21 races per week stable size of 20 and week 11 & 12 would be 25 race weeks to incorporate the new finals
Doc Hay & Matt have agreed to sort the handicap side out which is very positive news also others have come forward to offer help which is great news Keenan & Shaka being 2 of them
I think that covers everything for now
Would like to thank Dave who is working hard behind the scenes & Leon for steering me in the right direction
all the best Paul

 Re: Where we are now
Lets see what everyone thinks about the G1 handicaps. Some might think its better to have all eight races on the last week? You already have the Melbourne and Doncaster so it is actually only an extra six races?
