Post Rules fo NH and Flat
The rules need to be finalized by Sunday. So if you any changes please make them known by tomorrow evening. As after Sunday they will not be changed. The posts have been up for a few days now so you have had loads of time to make your feelings known.

A couple of things still need to be clarified however.

At the moment the Grand National, and both Foxhunters are multiple entry races.
I was thinking of adding races like the Hennessey and Welsh National to this. If anyone has any other suggestions let me know.

On the flat the shorter handicaps are always over subscribed, but races like the Melbourne cup and Chester cup might benefit from multiple entries.

The distance spread rule needs to be finalized.

The rules for group races need to be finalized. i.e What the max fields will be. Will unraced horses be allowed in group races

I was thinking of adding a rule that would allow uploads in week 6. Maybe 3 retires allowed and 3 new uploads allowed or being allowed to fill up your stable. It would also mean that trainers who missed the race upload close date ( week 2 noms ) will be able to join the league.

It should also stimulate interest for those whose horses just aren't performing, giving them an opportunity to change things around.

The schedules have to be finalized by tomorrow. No one has suggested any changes to NH. So it will stay as is, except that maidens in week 1 and 2 will be divided into novice and open maidens. In addition to this week 6, 7 and 8 will have some maiden races

Great Stuff Leon

Matt is looking at the flat sched

hopefully we will get the 7 g1 handicap finals added as we already have the Melbourne cup
it would be great if these could hold fields up to 30 (Open handicap) to give every trainer a chance of winning a g1
i think it will give every kind of trainer something to aim for in the long term

not sure if multiple entries would work in finals i would hate for a trainer to miss out on entry and one trainer to have 2 entries

let me no what you think

very happy with the rest

We already have the Doncaster as well? G1 hcap 8f?

I dont think trainers should be allowed multiple entries in G1 hcap.

Once I've worked out where we are light in terms of handicaps I will let you know what needs adding. Where did we get to with the maidens? Do you want more in week2?

If you don't allow the option you won't be able to implement it at a later stage You could say allow multiple entries in the Melbourne cup. And eliminate based on the following rules.

For example

Max field 30
All trainers entered must have one runner.
The balance of the field filled up by handicap rating.
If field size over 20, no multiple entries

In the past the Melbourne cup has struggled to get 15 runners never mind 30.

I agree no double entries for 8 g1 handicap finals
i do think they will attract big fields because of it being the big finale

I dont want to sway the decision making on sched Matt
i wanted people to give there opinions on the sched (Maidens) but we have very few so far
i think now we have to have this by saturday or sunday we need to make some decisions

what is your opinion on it are we light on maidens

5 sounds good. There will be 6 maidens ( 2 per week ) added in both schedules in week 6,7 and 8. So it should work
