back up your ttf file at the end of season when you export to gamepool

Cheers for this Paul, but what's the point of keeping them in the pool and having multiple copies? As in how does it help your breeding? And why do you keep multiple copies of the same horses at different ages?

because when you find a good ck mare or a good ck stallion more copies you have the better
because they are not going to produce good horses all the time so mroe you have more chance you will find something special
in the crop

say i have 8 athena arenas
at 2 3 4 5
import 2 copies of each over 2 seasons
so in 2 years you have 8 copies of her in breeding barn
she will produce 8 2yo
1 or 2 could be poor not not even fit to race 4 or 5 could be average 1 or 2 g1 qualty
but importantly 1 could be that golden special one that brings you new breeding lines and improves your ck times
the more throws you have the more hits you get
hope this explains it

PJ, I have completely failed! I've been breeding sprinters/milers and gradually feeding in my best to start breeding. One of the first generations has produced my most prolific sprinter ever, I'm yet to trial him. I was just thinking I had better start breeding with him because his parents are getting on a bit now. When I remembered the ttf trick. Long story short I have forgotten to transfer him and now he's 7 and beginning to decline...

that does not matter still copy him
he could still have a 10-15 year stud career
even if you save him at 7 8 9
hopefully he does rather better than starspangledbanner in the barn
