A huge week in the SO5 Online Flat league. Two Derbys and Oaks, some recovery missions in the Irish Guineas and three G1's on top of those for older horses. Here's a quick weather roundup from Epsom, Paris and County Kildare.

The forecast at Epsom is for long sunny, dry spells. Clerk of the course has watered accordingly and the going is described as "perfect" racing ground. Not too far away Newbury has had the same prolonged spell of pleasant weather.

Over in France there has been heavy rain for the past few days in Chantilly and as in recent years this has left the ground very soft. With a mainly dry few days ahead the French Derby and Oaks are likely to be run on soft ground. In the centre of Paris it has not stopped raining and right now the ground is heavy. Expected to dry out a little over the next few days.

At the Curragh they haven't had a drop of rain in two weeks and after extensively watering the course they expect good racing ground for the Guineas meeting.

Chantilly - Soft
Curragh - G/F
Epsom - Good
Longchamp - Soft
Musselburgh - Good
Newbury - Good
Redcar - G/F
Sandown - G/F
Haydock - Firm
York - G/S

NH weather
It seems that most of the UK and Ireland is underwater. All courses say racing definitely goes ahead but bring your wellies!

Ascot - Soft
Haydock - G/S(Amazing when the flat course is Firm!)
Aintree - Heavy
Newbury - G/S
Fairyhouse - Heavy
Fontwell - Good.

The only horse that i have in my flat stable that prefers soft ground is running in the Prix Diane. Fantastic news on the going!

The going is decided randomly after researching the track conditions for the last ten years. Its the most realistic and fair way imo.

Both league schedule displays for week 4 have been updated to reflect weather conditions.

As a weather geek I must say I love the weather report. Nice touch!
