Post Ascot Previews
Following on from my preview of Ascot most seasons I've decided to do some quick previews! As I'm at work today and tomorrow with not much to do and not being able to run the races I've decided to contribute this way! If I can I will change if any more runners are added! (Going to do as many as possible, Group 1's first then Group 2's and so forth)

Queen Anne Stakes -- £200000 -- Ascot -- Flat -- 1m -- Group 1 -- Open -- 4+ -- Good To Firm

Verdict - Very, Very interesting race with most of these having the beating of one another at one point throughout the season. I quite like all of these but I think this will be the same outcome as the Bet365 mile with Bits N Bobs tracking Sword play and pouncing late. It's a strange one with them all flip flopping each other at somepoint during the season! Art Uncle is a good horse but needs to be running in G3/2 races and Wolf Of Silver is ultra consistent but already been beaten by Mezmaar twice this year. Caviar Hero is a late entry who has been seriously good and will be bang there at the end. For me I think it will be nicked by Bits N Bobs off the front running Sword Play with Mezmaar running into third!

1st - Bits N Bobs
2nd - Sword Play
3rd - Mezmaar

Kings Stand Stakes -- £200000 -- Ascot -- Flat -- 5f -- Group 1 -- Open -- 3+ -- Good To Firm

Could be a chance for someone to become a hero here with only 1 horse in the race registering a win! Flowing is ahead on ratings after holding on for a Group 1 win in Dubai and probably leads the pack here. Canidoit has been ultra consistent without winning and has a chance here to do it on the big stage. Gas Me Up has been fantastic in top company and the York race can be written off after missing the break, Lazy Daze is just below top class but another with the consistency to go close. Yorb ran big races in Dubai and Down under but has disappointed since and the rest are probably a few levels below this with Nio Incept the most probable to spring a suprise. I quite like CANIDOIT who can certainly do it here, has already reversed the Maiden form with Makhfar who doesn't run here and has been unlucky behind last years champion trainers horses twice. Flowing won't be far away and any of Yorb/Lazy Daze or Gas Me Up could fill the other place but I'm going with Yorb.

1st - Canidoit
2nd - Flowing
3rd - Yorb

St James Palace Stakes -- £200000 -- Ascot -- Flat -- 1m -- Group 1 -- Colts -- 3YO -- Good To Firm

A good bunch of 3yo's showing up here all rated over 100 which says to me that this is a very classy race. 2000 Guineas winner KINGMAMBO is clear on ratings and clear in my head as the winner here, held off the champion trainers horse in the Guineas and was clear of the rest before not being able to get to Hakmal in Ireland, the horse is definitely consistent enough to win this. Hakmal is next on ratings and despite the Irish Guineas win hasn't shown enough for me to win this.
Blue Dream is better than it's rating suggests, Dodge City Sheriff is a grade or two below this, Hilly Wood has impressed over a mile and is better than his performances in France and Dubai suggest. Zeitweg's Craven looks a flash in the pan and both Power Of Posession and Yarpi are G2/3 animals. Wall Of Japan relished the step up in trip at Windsor and is the one that could suprise. In my opinion the consistency of Kingmambo is more than good enough for me to tip it up in the competition and should win. Hilly Wood's placing in both Guineas should be good enough for 2nd and Wall Of Japan will improve too.

1st - Kingmambo
2nd - Hilly Wood
3rd - Wall Of Japan

Prince Of Wales Stakes -- £283550 -- Ascot -- Flat -- 1m2f -- Group 1 -- Open -- 4+ -- Good To Firm

This looks like quite possibly the race of the meeting with 4 group winners and 4 placed in G1's, Bunil has some incredible form after winning the Dubai World Cup and Coronation Cup and to win 2 races (never mind Group 1's!) in the league with a 2f difference in the league is an incredible feat. The filly Smash Up has been running riot with the Middleton performance most impressive. Rife has been ultra consistent but has been beaten by both Bunil and Smash Up and may have to settle for a place. Ataraxis and Almuftarris have also been amazingly consistent and top class G1 horses but for me they are up against potentially 2 of the best horses the league has seen in Bunil and Smash Up. For me to win the Dubai World Cup over 10 then the Coronation Cup over 12 is a seriously incredible feat and enough for me to give BUNIL the nod. Smash Up will be involved at the finish as will the rest of them and this is a race to sit back and enjoy.

1st - Bunil
2nd - Smash Up
3rd - Rife

Ascot Gold Cup -- £200000 -- Ascot -- Flat -- 2m4f -- Group 1 -- Open -- 4+ -- Good To Firm

The big one for me with Careless Whisper 1st up as my big hope. Trainers race record reads 21 and this is the trip and course I trial on so I think this horse has a massive chance. Certainty hails from a yard respected over the longer distances but hasn't been able to put a head infront. Cruise Ship has been disappointing after a good Maiden win and King Lateefa has also disappointed since a maiden win. Drum Taps is the only group winner 2m and over in the race in Dubai but the distance may be too much. Zenyatta won a tough Yorkshire Cup but to win over 6f further is an extreme task, Wanted For Myself has run very well and will relish the trip and Polar Phantasm probably needs a drop down in class. Montezuma hasn't shown anything so far to be considered. For me the race is between Careless Whisper and Drum Taps, and I'm going to have to stick with my heart and say Careless can do it and just hope the curse of the maiden winners doesn't strike. Drum Taps is clearly class but the trainer has doubts about the trip but if staying will go very close. Certainty is consistent and if Cruise Ship returns to maiden form both have a winning chance and Wanted For Myself could be a well recieved winner if putting a head infront.

1st - Careless Whisper
2nd - Drum Taps
3rd - Wanted For Myself

Coronation Stakes -- £220000 -- Ascot -- Flat -- 1m -- Group 1 -- Fillies -- 3YO -- Good To Firm

Looking exactly like the St James Palace stakes and could be very intriguing. Blue Flower hasn't done enough at the top level to warrant a win and Bolts needs further despite an impressive performance in the Musidora. Dodge City Dame is probably just below G1 level. Between the next 4 it could be close for a winner Historic Fish was impressive in Ireland and even ran well in the US, Kerrera hasn't been able to get too close but ran good races nonetheless. Lady Of The Lake has placed in both Guineas and probably holds the cards here back to 1m while despite being top class 7f is probably more going to suit Pelecacci. For me HISTORIC FISH may win if back to Irish Guineas form with Lady Of The Lake nb, Kerrera should fill in for 3rd.

1st - Historic Fish
2nd - Lady Of The Lake
3rd - Kerrera

Diamond Jubilee Stakes -- £283000 -- Ascot -- Flat -- 6f -- Group 1 -- Open -- 3+ -- Good

7 Line up and it looks like a better race than the Kings Stand for me, Eva Luna continues to impress but may need a step up in trip. Frein won the Dash in fine style last time but there is probably a few better, Full Blast has disappointed since Dubai but a return to that form could see a big performance. Khubza looks mightily impressive with a win and 2nd in 2 G1's, the form stands out and is my idea of a festival banker. Mr Bond has run very well but is probably a step below G1 level and Proud Russian is probably in the same boat. Our Henry has been a cracking performer at top level and will run a massive race if sticking to form. For me the form of KHUBZA puts him clear here but Our Henry will provide the biggest danger, Eva Luna is my idea of the 3rd.

1st - Khubza
2nd - Our Henry
3rd - Eva Luna

Coventry Stakes -- £68000 -- Ascot -- Flat -- 6f -- Group 2 -- Colts -- 2YO -- Good To Firm
A tough race to decipher with multiple debutants! Boca impressed in the maiden but has disappointed since, most of the debutants are unknowns but I wouldn't be suprised if Flashback or Champagne And Canapes are well involved here. Conrad Ivan is one of the main principles after just being pipped by Soft Falling Rain who improved markedly on it's maiden form. Envy Knighting is useful but is probably just a notch below this level. Sequence, Sixty Six and War Command have all impressed but will need to improve to win this. Most of them have it to do to peg back CONRAD IVAN and Soft Falling Rain and I'm going for Conrad Ivan to turn the tables. Ascot may suit Envy Knighting who may squeak 3rd but don't rule out anything especially some of the debutants.

1st - Conrad Ivan
2nd - Soft Falling Rain
3rd - Envy Knighting

Duke Of Cambridge Stakes -- £78000 -- Ascot -- Flat -- 1m -- Group 2 -- Fillies -- 4+ -- Good To Firm

3 Newcomers in this 8 runner race are mainly unknown's but are not to be dismissed. Badaayer sets the standard after marked improvement to win the Victoria Cup and Jury Stakes and the run of Caviar Hero in the first will give a better understanding to it's chance here. Chalsy Blazer Ebs has been a useful horse but has seemed to struggle at top level but the 5th in the Lockinge is good form. Fab Filly is another who did well early before struggling in better company and is one to look out for. Giulietta has been a very good servant and the 3rd in Dubai is fine form and will have a chance here. Tonic won that Dubai Duty Free in fine style before moving up to 10f and running respectably in Group1/2 company. I think this will be a close one with Tonic going close if having the pace for 1m, Giulietta if returning to some of last years form has a real chance but CHALSY BLAZER EBS gave Badayeer 11lb and beat it at Doncaster and so should have enough to win off level weights and despite being beaten by Fab Filly and Badaayer at Lingfield the track should suit it more give it a great chance.

1st - Chalsy Blazer Ebs
2nd - Giulietta
3rd - Badaayer

Queen Mary Stakes -- £56710 -- Ascot -- Flat -- 5f -- Group 2 -- Fillies -- 2YO -- Good To Firm

An interesting race with a massive gap in the ratings between the top 4 and the rest. Bay Harbour, Infidel, and Raging Bull need to improve massively and Rouen and My Ebs In Vada need to improve too despite some good runs. Conrad Martina has ran well with consistency at Listed level and can step up. Mamaris is an interesting newcomer while Pallomine has also proven to be class. Saint Marine put up a fine performance in the Brocklesby and improving ground may help. Talitali Fiefe must be good to be coming here without a run and Twisted who has the best rating has won well twice. This is a tough one with the form of Conrad Martina/Pallomine/Saint Marine and Twisted all conjoined but my vote goes to Saint Marine as the trainer is pretty confident that the course could play apart. Twisted faultered on Firmish ground in the Albany Maiden and Conrad Martina hasn't been able to get infront which is what puts me off these two. Pallomine I think will run a good race into second.

1st - Saint Marine
2nd - Pallomine
3rd - Twisted
