Houston do we have a problem!
I've been looking at the Dec's for this week and I'm wondering why 12 of the 34 flat trainers have stopped running horses, is there a problem or just a natural drop out rate or is it because we getting close to SO 6. Perhaps it's something then again perhaps it's nothing.

Re: Houston do we have a problem!
it was same last week that was the first time i noticed very small fields
You always get trainers who give up after a few weeks its a shame because they would win races

Re: Houston do we have a problem!
Im sure most think they have good horses and then cant believe how far behind they are. Then I think when there are more Group races than handicaps, unavoidable at Ascot, Breeders etc, that puts more off. Some stables horses are possibly rated too high or it is going to take another few weeks for them to drop to a winning mark. Unfortunately educating these trainers is this best method to prevent this and support them at the same time but you cant force it upon them.
Hopefully with breeding supposedly fairer in SO6 this might not happen so much.
