 Exported Horses in SO6
Can't seem to find which folder the exported horses in SO6 are placed.
The ones you race in the ck.
Thanks

I think that has been done purposely so people cant tamper with the files but it was the ttf files that doc hex edited not the horse export files also cant find how you delete horses out of the CK

I thought this, and I'm pretty sure I read somewhere from Mark that the CK wouldn't be fully fixed until todays patch. However I now can't find that comment anywhere so I am probably wrong.

Doesn't look like it is sorted, can anyone let me know where the file is?

 Re: Exported Horses in SO6
The kit has been put back in primarily so people can trial their own horses. The game is still beta. No league will start while the game is in beta.
One of the aims is to remove the need for manually moving around and emailing files. This will eventually make everything much easier. Obviously some more functionally needs to be added to allow the manipulation of horses in the export database.
Ideally you would submit your horses from the game rather than emailing them in. Also it much be much better if you browsed races from within the game rather than having to download replay files.
So these changes are not just for security they are the beginnings of automating the league.

 Re: Exported Horses in SO6
If we cannot see where the files are this potentially makes running trial races a nightmare, I myself, and know a lot of other league trainers seperate horses (horse files) in Folders on windows explorer by distances i.e I have a 5F folder 6F Folder etc. If we cannot seperate/organise the horses this would mean we need to manually pick out horses to trial which would be ridiculously mind numbing and time consuming.

It would take ages just to put one trial together maybe some sort of filter or folder system can be added in game otherwise trialing will be unbearable can you imagine when you have 100s of horses exported

 Re: Exported Horses in SO6
Mark, I think its a fantastic idea to not be able to access horse files but how do I determin the optimum riding instructions if im not able to test against each other. It's still in beta so patience is needed but we need some ideas here to be able to do this as I don't trust the stupid ai jockey advice Thanks

 Re: Exported Horses in SO6
While in BETA I would simply play the game and forget about the league. There is always a small chance more restarts will be required (hopefully not) and we have yet to decide exactly what direction the league will take. Even if there is a stop-gap league it will still hopefully include some automation and may require more changes.
Regarding the management of exports if would be helpful if people posted exactly how the group and manage horses. I can then think about how this can be done within the application avoiding the manual process of moving files about.
The horses are currently all saved to a single database. It is possible to move this file around but it would be better if all organisation could be done from within the game.

 Re: Exported Horses in SO6
What i do Mark when i export a horse i copy the file and put in a folder By Age/Distance you can see below
So i create a Folder on desktop (League Horses) then Have Sub Folders 2yo 3yo 4yo+ Jumpers then they have subfolder 5f 6f 7f 8f 1m1 1m2 1m3 1m4 1m5 1m6 2m 2m4 Jumps has sub folders Hurdles Chase then sub folder in hurdle folder 2m 2m4 3m then sub folder in Chase 2m 2m4 3m 3m2 3m5 4m 4m4
it just separates them nicely by age and distance so you just copy from a certain folder and paste into horses exports to run that trial at that age and distance instead of having 100s of horses in the ck at one time it would be a nightmare trialing like it is now even though i understand the need for change but right now serious trialing would be a nightmare because you would have 100s if not 1000s horses in ck and you would have to hand pick each horse for trial at certain distance

What about allowing a horse to be exported 3 or four times and designated like say Black Caviar 1, Black Caviar 2, Black Caviar 3 etc. That way I would know which horse races, force the pace, race handy, slight hold up etc. Can this be done? Also pj's idea is a good one!

 Re: Exported Horses in SO6
I think what would solve the problem is an export to folder button in CK Then a Drop lIst would pop up like this Then you could have a manage folders section with a button to send all horses from that folder to the ck ready for trialing

 Re: Exported Horses in SO6
The folders within the CK would be a great idea of allowing people to trail exactly as we always do, but limiting access to the files for tampering.
