Post Breeding Guides?
Hey all. Just wondering what guides or techniques you use for breeding in SO6, come on share your secrets  ... latley I have become a little addicted trying to beat the SO6 record times I have come so so close many times  I never bothed with the forum or compitions for SO5 so never realised that its actually pretty fun, although frustrating.

Generally when it comes to breeding I just breed C1 winners together that have had a nice win streak, regardless of preferred distance etc.

What is the best age to retire to stud? are there any added benifits apart from a longer time for breeding

What is the main stat bar to look for in new born 2YO?

What do you do with your 2YO's? I used to send them out to grass until they was 3

Anyway thanks in advance for any advice or tips 8)

I generally look for horses with group 1 wins at 2 distances and breed with a range of 4 furlongs. Sometimes if a really top class sprinter appears with 10+ group 1 wins ill breed it with all my fillies to try and get some speed in my lines. Some times it produces pigs but occasionally produces a superstar.

I know some people who look at bars and stuff and try to breed based on different qualities of a horse, but the main bar i look for is for potential to be full or as close to full as possible.

I usually run 2 year olds upto a mile 3/4 times, 1m2f - 2/3 times and 1m4+ 1/2 times. 2m+ i wait untill there 3.

I'll hate myself for sharing this if I decide to enter a league but here goes...

I keep a database of all my mares and select sires accordingly.

Image

Name/Highest rating (I wish this was on the breeding page)/G1 wins. G2 wins/Deterioration (A must on the jumps game - Generally anything over 73 can only be expected to last a couple of seasons which is no good - If they have otherwise awesome stats and profile then I match them with sires with low det)/distance/career highlights/previous matings

As you can see on the bottom, I also keep tables on sires and guests.

Now I want to see PJR's database. I know he has one!

Thanks some nice helpful information & ideas, not sure if I will go down the whole database route yet lol

So what age do you normally strting breeding or stop breeding a horse, does it even matter?

Also is there anyway via options or addons I can add % to the stat bars?

A ruler pressed against the screen seems to do the trick.

Very true.. I do have compared potential bars like that. Yet to find a true full potential homebred Colt in SO6.

It would be simpler to just have a number on the page rather than constantly having to slap a ruler against a screen. It seems like a fairly obvious thing to do so I wonder if it's deliberate.

I had a mare who was all dark green and 1mm from full potential. But she's lost in a crashed save though which is jut awful. I hope she can be recovered somehow but I'm utterly illiterate when it comes to computers and stuff.
