Post Racing Abroad
Hi fellow so6 players,
Relatively new to this after playing for the last 6 months but starting to get frustrated with sending my horses to race in France and Dubai.
My horses are winning every group 1 in the UK and I'm only sending my 120 plus horses aboard but I always seem to come up short either finishing last or out of the top 5! :(
Has anyone got any tactics for racing aboard either dropping down in trip or different tactics etc?
Any help will be really Appreciated!

If it's any consolation - it's difficult to win overseas no matter where you base yourself.
A good indicator is if your horse is winning against strong fields that have a handful of overseas horses - then you have a great chance of winning o/s or placing.
Just keep dabbling o/s with your very best horses only and run with your gut feeling occasionally.
Besides a serious breeding program - I'm not sure there is an easy solution to winning overseas.
Just keep plugging away - you will win some!

Doug.

Thank you for your tips and I will definitely look at that to see if it works for me and manage to get some winners, Sprinters for me are the hardest to cracking but just put a 6f G1 winning male into stud so hoping he can cover alot of mares.

I'd like to say I have serious breeding program by only sending G1 winners into stud and by breeding with foreign horses who have won G1 races so I'm hoping this might be a trick and work for racing o/s.

Breeding with overseas G1 winners will speed things up!
Sprinters have been a tough gig for me as well. Milers have been easy to get and stayers as well.....but sprinters, not so lucky!

Keep an eye in the online league discussion forum as an online league will start up in the next two or three weeks, which should be fun and interesting :)

I also have a problem with sprinters. Spent fortunes in the auctions over the years, and they nearly always come up with zero finish application, or zero confidence, or very low constitution, or maximum deterioration potential, which makes it ever more difficult to get a breeding line started.

Those 1000m to 1200m sprinters in the auctions rarely do well as 2yos. Very frustrating!
Just thinking - I might just get them to win their maiden race and then put them into the paddock with my 2yo stayers and bring them back as 3yos.
It's worth a try :-)
