Welcome to the forum, i'm really new compared to the other guys, but what i do is sell nearly all if not all of the first ones to get some start up money (keep any high stats) and flick to auction days and see whats on offer as far as which race they should go in...better wait for one of the lads opinions, i haven't worked everything out yet, good luck and have fun m8

Jester is on the right track. If you are playing as owner/trainer then selling a few of your weaker horses to build a bank is a good start. Buy a barn then you can start breeding and selling the 2yos. It's all about the cash and building a bank - once you have a bank up - keep an eye on the mid-week auctions and look for young horses 2yo>4yo that are for sale that have won a Group race or two. You can either race them for two or three seasons or put them straight into your breeding barn - the resulting 2yo's are the ones you want to keep for a bit and see if they can run or keep selling til you can afford to buy proven Group 1 winners or buy the more expensive horses at the start of the season auctions.

Thank you for your feedback. Appreciate the helpful advice. I started a new game and kept 1 3yr old which I liked the look of, has won 3/3 at a mile. My staff advice says that the horse would benefit from gelding. Should I take the advice? Thanks, loving this game, Allan

not if he's good enough to breed .....and i find that if you geld them then sell them you don't so much money for them, i personally dont bother but others may say different.

I used to geld til I wanted to start breeding and one of my first half decent horses that I would have been able to kick start my breed....I had given him the chop!

I only geld my cast off flats when they are 4/5 and heading for a jump trial, and they are already dismissed as a breeding horse.
Not sure how much difference it makes, but seems more realistic.
