 What is the difference between DEFAULT and Sched_f_??

Post What is the difference between DEFAULT and Sched_f_??
When I start a game I can choose between:

DEFAULT game schedule
sched_f_.dat

Two questions:

1) What is the second one?
2) If I load in a custom schedule does it overwrite the default one? i.e. so to use my custom schedule I run the default one.

1. sched_f_.dat is the one you use for the in game editor.
