Post Grand National...
What is the best age you could hope for a Grand National win?? Whats the recommended races to run in prior to the National?

I currrently have a horse thats avg best distance is 4m, but he has run in the National 3 times and done nothing, well fell when favourite in his 1st attempt, but the jockey has said he got the distance well. 3 years ago won the Cheltenham Gold Cup, and since then hasn't won a race! He is now 9 and has seen his rating go from 170+ down to around 145 now, is now a better time because he won't be carrying as much weight?

Cheers for any help...
