Do the AI owners ever lose their jockeys???

Would love ruby or AP but no chance as they and most other top jockeys are retained.

I'm not sure if they ever lose their jockeys, but a workaround would be to amend the files so that your preferred jockey isn't retained by anyone, then you can use them from the start.

Is there any way in SO5 to change the jockeys names or take away their retained status?

I suppose you can edit the files in the game directory?
