Just seen Ballabriggs, on SO4 i had Kauto Star as a first horse (just the name obviously)

Anyone seen any others? i'd love to see a Frankel and be as good as Frankel!

Might seem wierd but every horse I come across with a real horse name seems to be pretty decent! There was a Johannesburg in my game that won a few 6f group races, can't remember many others, think I've seen a Kauto Star at one of those dog tracks like Wolverhampton but can't remember!

on so5 i got red rum on the flat won a 5 f sprint at haydock as a 2 yo ,cant see it winning 3 nationals

It would be so good if on SO6, the first seasons you had real horses and their real potential, obviously the scouting for this would take ages!

You can check all the horse names in SO5 by going into the relevant directory. SO5/data/1/horses. You can also edit the names of horses to your hearts content, which is something I am in the process of doing myself. Interestingly, I am replacing the real names with made up ones, I just don't like seeing them appear in my game, it just doesn't feel right to me to be training the 2YO Red Rum etc. I'm also getting rid of all the really naff names like Dobbin/Bobby/Billy etc......

I'm doing this with my horses file too. I prefer the game to create its own champions, rather than to see the names of real-life champions appear for horses that are nothing like their real-life counterparts.

I named 1 of my 2 year olds dobbin on SO4 and he lived upto his name... Also Heskey did the same hahaha!

As you all probably know I have done a horse name database with real life horse names from the past and present that can be downloaded under the mods section, and I like real horse names in my game it just makes if feel that bit better but each to their own.

Yes, but in FIFA the real players are similar to their real life counterparts. Would you enjoy it as much if Wayne Rooney was West Brom's goalkeeper and Sergio Aguero was the reserve left back for Wolves? And all the other top players were playing out of position for the wrong teams? The idea of having real-life champion horses' names in SO5 is absolutely fine, but it would be a lot better if they were similar to how they were in real life! That's why I prefer to use non-famous horse names, and let the game create its own champions. Everyone plays the game differently though, and it's great that it's so much easier to customise in SO5 (exxplozion's new horses file took a huge amount of work, and is great for those that want it).

I'm with Panther on this one, I don't want to train (or for that matter even see) Red Rum, the 3YO Seller/claimer sprinter thank you very much, just spoils the concept of my own private gameworld for me. But each to their own.

You are right panther it would have been also better if they were seperate folders for colts and fillies and everybody plays the game they way
