Post Tactics in racing
Hey everyone,

I've been playing this game for some time but I have never chose tactics for a race. On the forum, I often hear about people whose horses are great "if there is a pacemaker in the race" or "if they race handy".

I know about selecting tactics for a race, but how do you figure out what is best for your horses? Especially your unraced 2 year olds?

for all my 2yo's i just use the tactic as don't trail, in their first start, and that generally gives me a guide of what future tactics to use.

Trial and error really, after 2 or 3 runs you will have a good idea of the best jockey instructions for each of your horses, pay heed to the jockey feedback after the race too - the more expensive ones tend to give the most accurate feedback.

I let the jockey decide first couple until I find the right distance and then use my own judgement if necessary e.g if a holdup horse isn't getting there but stays on I bring it closer to the pace by selecting slight holdup, challenge earlier etc.

The only thread he hasn't posted in on his way to 1000 posts is the "Ubar free zone" one Kev, and I bet he's just itching to do it, but if he does, it has to be a -500 post penalty as a minimum!!
