Hey guys,

Just a couple of quick questions really as I play and love the game but i know im no good at it as such... regarding my first trouble I never know what races I want to aim horses at or bow frequent to run them etc etc for instance I have a 1m4f horse won grades 1/2/3 previously but all I seem to do Is book him for every race possible and not plan which in particular and I think I have overraced and has more losses than maybe if I plot what races to go for? So basically any advice on that guys how u find what races u want to run them in how frequent and wht ages you retire for breeding etc.

Secondly guys I have finally managed to fill my stables with good graded horses for breeding and some of them are in foal for the next two seasons and I just want to know if after breeding 2 of my best horses if I get a good horse would breeding that horse with the sire/dam when she retires produce anything good I believe its so caooed in breeding?

Aiming horses at target depends 100% on there ability thats trial and error im afraid there is no secrets to this
if your horse has the talent then he can achieve reasonable targets you set them

Recommended Races per season in so5

sprinter 10 -12
miler 9-11
mid distance 7-9
stayer 6-8

you can push these boundaries with star horses

in breeding can produce stars

What i tend to do is if a horse wins its first race in a maiden then i look at the race and think did it win by much, is it something im impressed with, if so then i would enter into a listed race and do the same.

I have a horse called gahmatova, won a maiden, then 4 listed races as i wasn't entirely satisfied with how she won so thought nah shes not ready for group company yet, so i finally got impressed and enetered her into group company but did do too well.

So basicly if your happy with the way your horses win like a good few lengths etc then you should think about upping it in class/group.

But thats just my way of doing things other people do things differently.

i run all my decent looking 2yo (potential bar nearly full) at 5f at southwell theres normally about 6/7 races over the first 2 weeks of the season its straight and no bias if u get a horse that clocks under a minute odds are u got a horse this however is only for horses that distance pref is under 1m.from there i have a set regime onto beverley c/f sprint/ morecombe/flying childers/breeders cup

From my game, American Style. Manual training. Usually no more than six starts. I always debut in a maiden. Then if they're available...Allowance - Cheap Graded race - Grade 3 - Grade 2 or 1. This is a typical real life American stakes horse progression. As far as breeding I decided long ago for the sake of realism I wouldn't inbreed my horses. That being said I currently have a 2yo I accidentally inbred while hastily breeding horses and not paying close attention. Daughter bred to father. Named the foal All In The Family and she appears to be of average ability.
