Post Gamebreds Only (Screenshots Please - Bandwidth Hungry!)
I thought it was time there was a thread for anyone with a gamebred they were really proud off. Immortalise them here with a screenshot. Here's a few of mine to start the thread rolling.

Image

Came with the start of a game. A case of AI imitating life as this stallion would prove the basis for almost all horses I bred in my 2nd generation breeding programme ala Northern Dancer. Eventually I mothballed the whole programme mostly because I came to the conclusion there were certain principles I wanted to follow based on conclusions I'd drawn from this generation of breeding.

Image

The grandaddy of my third generation breeding programme which has led to my hitting a lot more standard CK league times. I'm starting to use selected horses from the second generation for new blood and that too has helped lower my CK trial times especially at 1m where it looked like I was beating my head against a brick wall for a long time.

Image

Will probably be the base of my 4th generation or if not a full blown generation then at least the base of some new sprinting blood I'll be infusing into my 3rd generation breeding. I've toyed around with battling qualities and this stallion will likely be injecting some of that into my lines though there are lots of from my 2nd generation breeding programme that could do so too but I think this is a more elegant one horse solution.

Image

This stallion has been in my stables for awhile now without getting a look in for breeding. Perhaps someday soon he'll get a shot but there isn't anything he has that I don't see being covered by the others above.

The one thing that strikes me is how difficult it is to get good gamebred mares/fillies. Anyone have any of those they want to share? I do have a few but I'll save that for a later post.

Freak indeed. I was thinking more along the lines of horses that you had owned though :) and could demonstrate why you had chosen the horse as a basis for breeding.

My apologies.

Midnight Spark looks like an absolute freak. I have some game horses I've hidden away somewhere I think, unless they've all been deleted now I've got my own crop started. I'll have to take a look over the week and find out what I have.

WOW! That's just... Wow. The best game horse I've ever seen, I think.

I started a new game for breeding purposes and came across this computer horse that is really giving one of my 1m2f horses a great battle in G1's. My 1m2f horse (4year old) has only managed to beat it twice in two years of racing.

I have only completed 4 years in the game, and in that time Alibita has won 31 G1 races and is 10 years old, so he started as a 6 year old with no recorded races. Lord knows how many he would of won if he started as a 2 year old, but would be safe to say he would be well over 100 G1's if the last 4 years are anything to go by.

Looking over his career he has recorded 2.4.4 over 1m2f several times as a 7 year old !

Hope he goes to Stud because I will throw my best Mares at him!

Unfortunately my PC died so I lost my gamebred horse career and chance to breed from him :(

Would like to keep AKHC thread alive as I love seeing peoples good game bred horses. I will add mine if I come across any good ones during my new game.

Hmm.. I'd forgotten about this thread. 30th of July 2012. What was that.. just over two months since SO5 came out? By then I'd already crystallized in my mind that I needed good breeding stock and I'd already been starting game upon game trying to find colts/stallions with near max potential. Labista was the one I got by chance and got me starting game upon game to find those horses. I remember breeding and creating a whole generation of horses from Labista that are still to be found in my horses today. All the Lasla La*** horses had him as their ultimate grandsire on both sides.

And come to think of it, even then I was trying to drop hints for others so they could try and improve their breeding :D but I don't think many cottoned on to what I was hinting at. Be interesting to see what horses folk have found after I posted about the method I used in my flat breeding guide.

Midnight Spark freshened up the Labista lines and provided another boost but by then I'd worked on ways to pick out good stallions/fillies from the breeding barn and I spent a lot less time starting games to find good stallions but instead playing games and breeding. There are reasons why I start a new game and breed each 1 stallion to 5 fillies and once the offspring hit 3 I'm off to start another game. One of them is it gives me more choice for finding new breeding stock in the breeding barn. My current horses are a good part Midnight Spark/Labista plus countless other one off horses which I found in breeding barns.
