Dint want to spend too much time on the flat side this time with the racebuilder issue
spent ages on milers last time and they ended up being poor
so decided to put alot more time into jumps breeding for the 1st time
i think i am competitive at every distance apart from staying hurdlers

I've decided to spent most of my time on the flat, I started as a flat breeder and I wanted to see how good I could get them. I'll take whatever I can get over jumps, I know I got two nice staying hurdlers for next year.

My problem distance is 1m4 horses, I've spent a lot of time on them without getting very far plus my better horses are still hold up horses. As we know they are disadvantaged on the flat. I've decided not to change and who ever is best will be in my team even if their running style is wrong, id rather run my best horse than go for a less talented horse but who's running style is suited to the league.

When he turned 8 his bar went down to about 60%
so he has retired to stud
lost his last race but a nice career

Very nice, I also like the NH side, I'm playing Flat/NH with the intention of breeding from the best flat horses to go on the NH.
I notice At Fishers Cross went straight to hurdling with no NH flat race, Did he have a flat career? Did you gallop him and if so what do you think is the best way? With my big money flat purchases i give them 3 x 2m hurdle gallops before entering them for a race.
How do i take screen shots? and how do i post them on here.. do i need to use tinypic?

Flat horses can not enter NH Flat races
At Fshers cross was bred in jumps game and could have run in flat races but i prefer
putting them out to grass until 4/5 and go straight to hurdles

pjrhodes1970- I'm aware flat horses can't run in NH flat races ;-) Been in the racing game a long time from working in a bookies when i left school, Remember my first ever bet when i was 11 or 12 Party Politics in the national £2 win!! Always been around racehorses, My dads boss had point to pointers and i have ridden with the hunt :-) Also owned shares in horses and been in racing clubs.
You could still take a regally bred flat horse and start him in a bumper before mixing flat and jumps, I know this was popular with A Swinbank as he said was no point running in flat maidens and getting thrashed by the arabs!
I like your suggestion of putting them out to grass and going straight over hurdles, will give it a go, At moment i'm just buying decent flat horses rated 80+ Giving them 3 x 2m hurdles gallops, Then seeing how they get on in races before retiring the best stock to solely breed horses to go hurdling/chasing, Have had some success, A funny one was buying a 4 y.o mare rated 78 for £79,800, Gave her the 3 gallops then entered her into a juvenile 2m hurdle, She finished 9th of 11, It was then i realised her breeding indicated was 4m despite being a miler on the flat! So i entered her in a 2m 6f handicap and put my 7lb claimer up, backed her from 50/1 to 8/1 and she just got up! Won me £101,600!
Cheers for tip on taking/posting screenshots ;-)
