Post Jumps Racing Questions
Gonna try and throw together a couple horses for the jumps league just for a little taste. First time ever jump training and I'm unfamiliar with the race declaration conditions. What are the rules for the following...

1. Novice Race

2. Juvenile Race

3. Hunter Chase Races

Whats the difference between hurdle and chase and will your horse be markedly better at one. If so how do you know?

As a foundation sire I will use this flat horse who has the best jumps ability of all my TTF files. Mazury started his career winning his first 38 races so he should be a solid choice. I picked him up at auction as an 11yo gamebred and I'm sure his potential bar was much better than this. When imported into the game his distance is 3m 4f. Your opinion on this horse....

Hi Mate

Firstly ignore the jumps bars they mean virtually nothing

I would highly recommend you trial your flat cast offs
this is what i did in season 1 & 2 and had plenty of successes along the way

The only way is to trial them in the CK you cant really find out in game

You could have a grade 1 winner hidden away in your flat cast offs

The jumping speed potential bar is more important. The jumps bar can be zero, it makes no difference, but you want your horses to jump quickly as they gain a lot of ground that way.

If you can find something with 60% jumping speed potential or higher then you can build from there.

Juvenile races are 4YO's

Novices are for first season jumpers.

Hurdles are the smalled obstacles.

Ignore the Hunter chasers as these are normally much lower grade horses.

I can send you some horses to trial against if you want some yardsticks or just download Paul's that he uploaded on the online league forum

Thanks both of you for the advice. Believe it or not PJ right before you posted that comment I had done just that - trialed my best 1-4 flat horses over 4 miles. My flat trial horses limit is 1-4 because of my American based game so that is what I used.

I came up with two horses - to no surprise the best was my best flat horse I've ever bred and second best was her son. I used those two while going against my personal rule of not inbreeding Father/daughters and Mother/Sons. No biggie it's just a game - the hell with realism.

I must say I'm enjoying this go at jumping. I want a Grand National horse too so I'm trying to whip something up breeding wise.

My first league quality runner is this one. I'm guessing league quality but know fully well I am up against it being so late to the game.
