Post How long does it take you to complete a season?
I guess some people just race quickly through seasons, skipping through weeks and months at a time, and concentrate on big races, group wins and breeding. As an experiment, I began playing one of my games in July 2011 (in the real world) and decided I would watch every feature race, and every race in which one of my own horses was entered in, as of today (22 December 2011) I am now only in October 2010 (season started Jan 2010).

What pace do you tend to play your games in?

I skip to my own horses but I have that many horses it still takes me ages to get through roughly I would say between 8-14 hours per season sometimes longer.

I try to do at least two months game play in a week, but I tend to get immersed in the game itself.

One season lasts a month.

By the time SO5 comes out I will have had a twenty five to thirty year career.

Watch all races, make notes on all winners irrespective of trainer.

All meetings and races have been created by myself, and I mean ALL.

Oh, and I play a six player game against five other powerful stables.

My god EPW and I thought mine was taking long. I bet your schedule is fantastic. Are you doing a schedule for SO5 when it comes out? I would love a copy if you are sharing it. I have never tried a 6 player game before...doesn't it get a bit boring after a while...surely the 1 player game is better.

Mate that is dedication I tip my hat to you in respect

before I was breeding and playing just for the lge a season would take me about 12-15hours I treated a season as a year
in my career and had 100 horses at the start of every season

now I am playing the game just to breed for lge I can rush through a season in 2 to 3 hours less if I spot my
horses are not good enough early just sell so when that happens can get a season done in a hour that includes
using the tab bar to get to final 2 furlongs of every race which I would never do playing the game with no lge intentions

Six player games mean I can compete against five other stables which are similar to my own. This means there is real competition for races. It just makes the whole game more realistic. With five other 'players' also breeding it does take time. The upside is that you get quite a few unbeaten horses for the group races from various stables, especially the two year old races. My stable doesn't win all the group races as a result.

I will have a look at the new schedule for SO5, but will probably create my own anyway (flat) - bit OCD that way. Will make it available as a download when ready, probably about two months after release.

Hoping to do a few more mods but will see what the finished game looks like first.

All the best for christmas and the new year mate.

As I don't do the league, I watch every race I have a runner in, and, as seasons progress I usually always have 100 horses in the stable. I go to the races every day, but skip every race if I don't have a runner, just to make sure I don't miss something decent in the auction. Really couldn't say how ,long a season lasts, but, when played loike this you actually look forward to the season end to see what's in store with the new 2 year olds and have your 3 year olds trained on.

Cheers EPW that would be great to have your schedule for SO5.
Happy xmas to you mate as well.
I know one of my presents is "Totopoly" the board game, haven't played that game since the 80's, great horse racing game.

Just approaching the end of October 2010 now! The Arc has just been won by a 5YO gelding.

 How Westy?

Takes me a 5-6 hours to play a season but then i do watch all the races my horses are in, found myself getting bored with the game when just flying through it looking for league horses.
