 Re: aussie breeding
It isn't ideal. I wasn't planning on doing huge amounts of breeding for next season but it looks like I will have to if I want to stay competitive/maintain my edge. I'm hoping Mark finds the problem and can sort it but failing that I'll simply do some breeding and see how it goes. I suspect that only a very few trainers will still be competitive for next season as the improvement is limited and you still need to have good horses. It just means everyone has to breed some horses to get the improvement seen which means redoing a lot of breeding that's all.

 Re: aussie breeding
Would it not be possible to put a disclaimer up on the forum, warning all people wanting to enter the league that they cannot use this exploit? It is easy to spot (UK horse, Aussie flag) so doesn't take a rocket scientist to spot it. It doesn't affect future breeding according to tests that Andy did, and effects CK performance for that horse only, with no difference within the game. To be honest I had considered rejoining the league for the new season but after this information has come to light I'm not going to bother. It's just too much faffing about just to knock a few precious seconds off - it really isn't worth the hassle IMO. If I do redecide enter the league it'll be from purely UK bred horses only and I'll see how good I can do with them, and I'd encourage that my fellow trainers do the same. I still think Andy's horses bred in the UK would beat most if not all of the glitch-bred ones. There you go Andy, there's a challenge for you!

It is a shame, but I really doubt there will be too many people willing to go through all the hassle so the issue may peter out on its own. I don't think people should leave over it, it is just a game after all. PJ I think you are exaggerating the issue massively. I have been very competitive in handicaps and some group races this season but my horses can run nowhere near the times you and AKHC say you need to be competitive. I didn't even pay any attention to the times they can run in the CK until this week! I will probably get bored of taking note of times again soon and go back to playing the game the way I like to. All I am trying to point out is that you really don't have to have spent your life playing and exporting and exploiting the game to do reasonably well. Just whatever you do DO NOT upload hold up horses! THEY WILL BE MURDERED BY THE JOCKEY IN ALMOST EVERY RACE!

Actually Jamie I can't confirm that for future breeding. That's something I need to test out. I was hoping Mark could confirm it.

 Re: aussie breeding
There may be a solution that doesn't require a data change and closes any exploit. It will need testing though. I would hold fire from playing any league games for a few days or exporting horses until this can be checked out properly.

I will put off breeding anything for the next few days. Thanks for your prompt response. You've just got me signed up for SO6 when you release it .

 Re: aussie breeding
I don't care that my horses won't be competitive- the reason they aren't anyway is becaus so don't play the game a hue amount and play it quite slowly, and obviously there is a lot of improvement I can make but just the extra hassle of having to go through all the Aussie breeding really puts me off that side of it, so even if I improve my uk bred horses I will still be behind, so my meaning is I'd rather enjoy the game than worry about the league

will keep you all posted Does this mean that basic UK bred horses will also be affected or can those of us playing UK games continue to keep playing as normal?

One would assume that Mark means hold fire on the 'new' breeding, Aus style. The UK horses shouldn't change, also as it isn't a patch that requires a data change no current games should be affected.

 Re: aussie breeding
Maybe one day we can get a season that runs without any controversy.... I have been involved in the last 3 or 4 seasons I think and every time something comes to light that puts doubt over horses and trainers..... BLOODY FRUSTRATING..... GAME-BRED ONLY LEAGUE will eventually become the only way

 Re: aussie breeding
i have decided not to run aussie bred horses i have deleted all my saves (still got my uk horses) i have played for a few days now and yes my horses are quicker however all aussie horses have been deleted from my ck.i will be training in the league and dont really expect much.however i will have the peace of mind that any win i get will be down to me and not a glitch.i understand the competative nature of some people and believe the league is better off without glitches & in game "cheats" hopefully mark will resolve this but if he doesnt to each his/her own.
