We decided to have a little fun at the Play Expo in Manchester last weekend and brought along our own horse! (well a simulator in the form of the aptly named iJoy Ride). Needless to say it went down a storm and works really well with SO6 and the Rift and there were plenty of laughs on the way. Brief footage here: http://youtu.be/opoCUT7iHpc The Play Expos are really great shows to visit. They have a good mix of new Indie games and old retro stuff. They had a massive arcade of all the classic video games and rows of old computers and consoles to play with. They even had a zx81 running Manic Miner! As far as I know the next one is in May next year in Blackpool. The plan is to demo SO6 at racecourses (probably next year now due to the weather) and by then we may well have improved the whole setup again. It's a great way to promote the game. Someone mentioned to me that Sha Tin looked nicer in our demo. Basically I tarted up a few courses specifically for the demo. Mainly extra crowds and trees and shrubs close to the track as these improve the VR experience. You can download them (just the courses) here but you will need a high spec PC for these to work. The Aintree here especially is a hog. So backup your old courses if you try these: http://www.startersorders.com/downloads/oculuscourses.zip |
