Advice needed on what and why enter hurdles in preference to chases or vice versa. Is the choice based on certain parameters : age, speed, or jumping ability? Any advice would be gratefully appreciated. Do please respond . ARAPHO |

there are no secret signs its all trial and error mate pays your money take your chances I Like the novice/juvenile hurdle - hurdle - novice chase - chase route though 4 year cycle 4yo - 7yo |

I Always Check my horses at 3 in the training tab section if it says Jumping Average or Good I make a note by highlighting the horse with my mouse press N then a little box comes up and I type in Chaser so I know in the future this horse could go down the chasing route. Gray |

Or add a year on the other end: For a 2 miler 3yo/4yo - Bumper career - Main Target Champion Bumper 4yo/5yo - Novice Hurdle Career - Main Target Supreme Novices Hurdle 5yo/6yo - Hurdle Career - Main Target Champion Hurdle 6yo/7yo - Novice Chase Career - Main Target Arkle Novices Chase 7yo/8yo - Chase Career - Main Target Queen Mother Champion Chase I guess it depends when your horse peaks and whether it will be fast enough for the Champion Hurdle at 6. Interesting theory about the training potential. I always took that to mean how good the horse was at jumping and it seemed to hold true in my games. But maybe I'll stop paying so much attention to it and start trying some of my really fast 'poor' jumpers from my flat game in a NH game. |

Sorry to hi-Jack - been trying a wee jumps game for the first time, struggling to match horses to the right distance...do they have to be 2mile plus horses or would a horse bred for 1m6 on the flat be a good 2 mile hurdler?? |

sorry this dont help you much but a 2 miler in jumps game can be anything from 5f to 1m6 horse on the flat most of my best 2 milers are 7f or 1milers on flat though |
