Hello Mark my name is Chris. I am a current owner/breeder of harness horses/greyhounds and former racecaller on Australian Racing Channel SKY who called all three codes; Thoroughbred, Harness & Greyhound Racing for 9 years. I retired a year ago to pursue my own business. I have played horse racing sims on the computer for well over a decade for fun and your design so far on the computer is the very best.

There's a big interest in having a Harness Racing Game made, and if possible one day and you happened to start developing one, I would enjoy helping you develop the game by sharing my extensive knowledge on the sport and also helping out in the callers box by delivering some top notch race track atmosphere to the players.

I strongly feel that the one thing that all horse racing games have missed out, is a decent racecaller. I have recording facilities and would love to help out in improving the SO6's racetrack atmosphere, if you're interested in this proposition and would like to talk business, please send an email to:

Hope mark likes your Ideas of making a PC harness racing game, wow! I would party till I drop dead :lol:,
And yes you are right can't find a good harness racing game on the net, and for calling the SO6 races, that can only improve a bit or so, but mark has done a great job with this game this time around I have to say.

While the commentary in the game is really useful, I have noticed recently that there are a few odd calls during the races. For example, "The leader is the leader" etc.
There is no need for a massive change in the commentary, but something could be done to improve it slightly :)

There is no interest in Harness racing in the UK. I know there is in some other countries but it's a very small sub-niche in what is already a small niche.

The big problem with commentary is the massive number of names in the game. There are many thousands and it's just not possible to record.

The solution to improve commentary will be text to speech or improvements in speech synthesisers so it can be automated and not recorded. Last time I looked they were getting pretty good (and starting to lose the robotic twang) but not quite there. Not with available API's anyway.
