 Claiming and Selling Prices
Hi, I am really having a problem when entering horses in to claiming and selling races. I enter a price (reserve £) in to the Auction Section, then I enter the horse into either of the above grades, but when the horse wins the race and is entered into the auction at the end of that days racing there is no reserve price against them which is really frustrating as don't want them to go for nothing or I am racing them in the above grades to give them confidence or trying out a new distance. Any advise or assistance on the above would be really appreciated. Thanks in Advance

 Re: Claiming and Selling Prices
You have to set the reserve after they win. Otherwise the game treats it as if you've just pressed the 'A' button without setting a reserve.

 Re: Claiming and Selling Prices
It's not the most obvious system and something I've been confused on myself. I've been playing since SO2 and I have never figured out how to set a reserve price regardless of how I do it. I gave up a long time ago. I'm not inexperienced with computers, either. I've been working with them for like 25 years now and have played a wide variety of games. It's rare if something stumps me.
It's one of those areas that needs a better explanation for sure or an overhaul. Don't see why we can't put in a number and save it permanently, then if we should ever choose to sell the horse in the future, the minimum price is already set. Or the minimum price is determined via a formula that accounts for the horse's lineage, earnings, and performance in the past year or something.

 Re: Claiming and Selling Prices
After the race set your reserve first, then press A button it will say "Horse already in auction"
Set the reserve at 3 million then nobody will bid for it. Hope this helps.

 Re: Claiming and Selling Prices
Personally, I just put them straight to auction on the Thursday. I just type in a basic reserve price then click on A

Horse values at auction after claiming races are set by the claiming weight not reserve value. Setting a reserve price in this way only works for selling races.

I have just run a claiming race using the same method and it worked the same as a selling race. I put in my own reserve in and the horse did not sell.
