For the first time I really have delved into a save and play the combined Flat/Jumps in the UK schedule. I have also started to follow racing in real life more closely and really love it. Living in Norway that isn't easy, but via som online bookies you can watch a lot of races, and I hav caught up with lots of historical races and horses on youtube. Well, back to the game. I have read the forums thoroughly and learnt a lot. I am 15 sesons in and starting to dominate a lot of races. My best horse until now racking up 14 grade 1 wins before retired to the barn, two of them the Dubai world cup. But as a big National Hunt fan I really would like to get horses that could do well and probably challenge for the Cheltenham Gold cup and the Grand National as well. I have had one horse that did reasonably well, his avg preferred distance was 3m4f, but couldn't compete with the best in either races. So for the questions ![]() 1) Is it possible to have a horse that wins both the Gold cup and the National? 2) What kind of abilities should a great chase horse posess? 3) I guess the best chasers is older horses, but how much should you take notice of the potential bar decreasing through the years? 4) What dou you breed for getting a good NH horse? Distance? Stamina? 5) I have horses that prefer shorter distances that my head lad says have a good jumping rating. Should I race these over hurdles? Are they out of the question being chasers? 6) Is there any spreadsheets available that can help you sort your breeding? I have seen some but I am not sure I am understanding them? 7) I hope one day to get horses that can join the online league. Is there a good guide about what it takes to join? ![]() Lots of questions, I hope some of you can answer some of them. I really appreciate everybodys contributions to the forums. And I have to say that SO6 is a great game. If I, as a non-native english speaker and not into the Uk, american, irish and Australian raceworld, could have one wish for future games was to have a list of the Holy grail of races that one should aim to win in a lifetime. Thanks in advance everyone. PS One last question: ![]() 9) How important are jockey orders? I am not sure what all of it means (probably a language thing) and sometimes I feel the jockeys make some strange decicions. What does ride handy mean? |

1 Yes but not an easy task 2 Flat horses can make great Jumpers too so try them too Stat bars mean little I have had a ton of top class horses with no jumping ability 3 best staying chasers 9 or above 2m5 to 3m5 6 7 or 8 2 milers 5 6 or 7 4 You need to breed to Gamebreds as flat horses tend to only get to 3m5 so you need a 4mile + Gamebred 5 Your the Boss so do what you feel is right and best for the horse 6 I have seen other players that have there own maybe they could answer this for you 7 I will come back to this 8 Inbreeding can bring great results so recommend some inbreeding 9 Jockey orders are not a huge thing he will work out whats best for the horse but i always have even pace horses Hope thats a bit helpful |
