My First Undefeated Horse, winning by at least 1.5 lengths every start, usually 4+ lengths eased up. Took me a while to learn how to give a horse the best chance of staying undefeated but HOW is she not 140 Rated!?!? I could probably race her a few more times but i want to get her to the breeding barn before the end of the year. ![]() ![]() |

The AI Handicapper has a thing against females. He always is reluctant to go to 140 with them. You must hope for a blow out win in a Grade 1 for a sure ratings jump. |

Very impressive, great work! Quote: Took me a while to learn how to give a horse the best chance of staying undefeated but HOW is she not 140 Rated!?!? As a relatively newcomer to the game, can I ask how you raced her, what strategies you learnt to become undefeated? |

Taunton wrote: Very impressive, great work! As a relatively newcomer to the game, can I ask how you raced her, what strategies you learnt to become undefeated? I raced her using the following criteria and if i wasn't happy i scratched her Tip 1: Analyze the stamina bar! depending on where it is can give you a pretty accurate idea of what the best distance is to race the horse for example... ![]() This Horse has a av best distance of 1M3F but the stamina bar atm is really low (11.25) so from experience id say the best distance for the horse is 5 or 6F. Running him further than this is unlikely to result in a winner because the horse will run out of steam. This is due to this horse being a fresh 2yo but some horses don't line up with what the av Best Distance suggests. i can make a list of stamina bars and likely distances to race the horses if you like, from memory 23.75 stamina makes a good miler. Always check this the day of the race because a horse could have developed stamina in training. Tip 2: Make sure the green condition bar is at 100%! even at 97.5% i have noticed drops in performance which means failure is more likely. Always check this the day of the race! Tip 3: Age and Sex Races: As a 3yo if they are big money group 1s e.g. Kentucky Derby run against your own age group as it limits the chance of losing to an older more developed horse. My horse in the First post Ace of Spades i allowed to run in many Fillies races in her distance as it reduces the amount of quality horses. If a horse is fully developed as a 3yo you may want to run it against older horses but it could be your downfall. Tip 4: checking the field: When you do make the decision to run against older horses as a 3yo look at the field in the race you're about to accept in. If you find the leading older horse in terms of rating or one that has finished in the top 2 in the last few G1s at that distance maybe don't run it. Instead find a G1 with a weaker field and see if your horse gets through that test first. Your horse might scrap home by a Short Head and you know it may not be ready to run against the best of the best. Tip 5: Don't run it against stable mates: you have breed the stablemate to win also so a 1 off upset to ruin a perfect record could be devestating. Tip 6: Luck! sometimes especially in big fields your horse gets a bad run stuck 6 wide for the first 3 furlongs or they get held up for a run or they sweat up before the race and don't run to ability. Sometimes you get unlucky and it sucks especially when you know your horse is the best in the field but you feel alot better earning the undefeated record then restarting the game when it doesn't go your way hope this helps ![]() |

I am hoping to see the results of her in the barn tonight. |
