Post subject: | A few questions from a beginner |
Hello, I just started playing this game, which so far was quite fun. I play in the basic owner/trainer mod, with regular training. But my horses keep being injured, I have no idea how to increase their fitness or keeping them from being injured (out of 5 horses, only 3 so far have managed to run one race each, the rest of them being too injured most of the time). If you have tips on that, I'm interested ! Also, main problem I've had with this game, it automatically sold one of my horses (and especially one of the only good horses I had). I just switched to the next day and the horse was gone, with quite a sum of money on my account, but the horse was gone. Needless to say, I was quite angry since it was one of the two horses in my game that was earning some money ![]() Also, what is the point of the gallops training ? They don't seem to do anything, except sometimes hurt my horses, but maybe I'm using them wrong. If you have other advices for a beginner like myself (especially since now I'll have to start all over again), I'm interested ! Thank you ! |

When you race your horses make sure the fitness icon is green and not red or amber. If red or amber the horse will almost certainly be injured in the race. Also do not enter your horses in claiming or selling races if you want to keep them. In a claiming race, if it wins it may be claimed by another trainer, Hope that helps a little bit |

I understand that for the racing, but usually I don't even have time to enter them in a race as they get injured before even entering their first race. Thank you for the tip about the claiming races, I knew about the selling ones but not the claiming ! That must have been what happened then on my last game. I'll pay attention to that now ![]() |

I think you start the game with manual training. Try a new game with auto-training, that way your horse won't get injured often. And yes as he said above, don't put your horse on Claiming or Selling horse unless you notice his ability isn't any good. I believe gallop training is increasing their fitness and might be improve their ability? |

Thank you very much ! I actually like the training, I think I finally figured out how it works and on my new game (with manual training, it's more fun this way !) none of my horses got injured (or if they did, it was my own fault). Until now I kept away from the gallops, but I'll use them a bit more if it's useful for those things ! New question : What's the deal with those flat/jump forms ? I bought a horse that's supposed to be able to run in both jump and flat races (it has that little FJ icon), but I can only enter it in flat races, when I try to enter it in jump races it tells me it can't since the horse has a Flat form. |

If you try Entering a horse which has Flat Form it can't run in Bumpers (NH Flat Races) I take it your playing the Combined Game your horse will be able to run in Juvenile Hurdles Races from 3yo Novice Hurdle Races and Chases From 4yo.
