| Post subject: | How do you play as a jockey? |
Hi, I just purchased the game and I'm getting very frustrated. I just want to ride races. How do I play in "jockey mode" the menus and tutorials seem to be very difficult. Whether it's racing my own horses or AI horses, I just want to ride in the races for fun. |

Ok - Just start a game as 'owner/trainer'. Next - pick one of your horses that is fit and ready to run and enter it in the easiest race you can find. On race day find the race you are entered in - now there are two ways to choose to ride your horse - in the mid top centre right you'll see a small circle emblem with I think a jockey on a horse - click on that and it will take you to the barriers. OR you'll see jockey instructions list - in the centre of that box is a drop down list - click on that and click on "take the reins" then press the triangle play symbol in the top right of your screen. To jump from the gates - hit control and the up arrow button at the same time just before the red or green (can't remember) go symbol flashes. To your bottom left you will see two vertical moving lines - the green one is speed and the white one I believe to be stamina. The four arrow keys on your keyboard move the horse left and right, push it along or take hold. To the bottom left you will see four grey arrows and one black arrow. The black arrow tells you where you should be positioning your horse in the field. Above the two vertical lines you'll see a white circle - if that turns red you are out of position during the first half of the race. To use the whip, tap control Ctrl. (Although I am not sure if this works on my keyboard as I don't hear or see anything when I do) This is for flat racing. All the same for the Chase but I think you tap the up arrow to jump the hurdle/fence - I haven't ridden in Hunt races yet.
