Hi,

With Christmas almost upon us i decided to get my brother a horse racing game for his new laptop (He adores the old gee-gee's). After a few google searches i stumbled across Starters Orders and it certainly appears to be the best on the market at present. However i have a few questions before i commit myself to purchasing this game.

1) If i buy the game now, will it come with the current version already on the disc or do i need to update the game after installation? (not an issue really, just a question).
2) Is there going to be a SO5 released anytime soon? I don't wanna get SO4 then find out theres an SO5 being released in February
3) How supportive are the support team? I don't want to tempt fate but should any issues arise, i don't want to be speaking to the horse equivalent of virgin media

Any answers to these questions would be much appreciated.

Hello. In answer to your questions. The game isn't on disc, it's only available via download from the website, all updates are posted on this forum.

There is a SO5 planned for around April 2012, so still plenty of time to buy SO4!

The SO support email found on the website is a port of call, but most people post their issues on this forum and other members can help. Or you will get a direct reply from Mark who is the SO support. We all try to do our best to help with technical issues where we can, but obviously some are more knowledgeable than others!!

Hope this helps and when you buy the game direct your brother to this site, I'm sure he'll find it both helpful and interesting.

The game is excellent and the support forum is top notch. Most problems are answered by people who play the game if Mark is unavailable.

Id also like to point you towards the online section here. We have an online league which is excellent and caters for all. If you buy him the game for xmas and he plays it a fair bit he will be able to take part in the league, probably in Feb. Now that doesn't give him much time to get a group of horses together BUT the schedule for the league is excelletn and and whether you have horses which are future champions or slow plodders you WILL win races.

If he plays ANY game online he can not fail to love Starters Orders online
